president of the firm is Erik
Gravlev, who started the comp-
any in Exeter in 1961. The com-
pany now employs 12 persons
and has dealers thrOtighout Can-
ada and the United States,
Most of the farm equipment
handled by the firm comes from
Denmark, Sweden and West Ger-
many, with a few items from the
United States,
Main item handled by the local
company is the Se sam plow,
which has received an enthus-
iastic reception from North Am-
erican farmers.
It was introduced only last
year, but Mr. Gravlev said the
response "was overwhelming"
and he anticipates even greater
success for the plow this year.
In addition to the plow, the
firm handles seed drills, all
types of flat chain and roller
chain, plow parts for almost
every type of plow on the mar-
ket, fertilizer spreaders, culti-
vat"Sr hay rakes, flail harvest-
ers and mowers.
One of the most versatile
pieces of equipment is a com-
bination manure spreader, bulk
fertilizer spreader, grain wagon
and, forage box which can bp
adapted to any of these jobs with
only minor adjustments.
Mr. GraYlev indicated the move
to combine various pieces Of
equipment into one unit is being
welcomed by farmers as it is
naturally much more economical
than purchasing all this equip-
ment separately.
This year the firm will also
offer a combine with a corn bead
as optional equipmant.
The increased amount of equip-
ment being sold by J. F. Farni
Machinery Limited is indicated
by the fact they doubled their
space for this year's Farm
Equipment show at Toronto.
Mr. Gravlev said he was very
pleased with the interest shown
by farmers and dealers attend-
ing the recent show.
At the present time, the firm
has three sales representatives
under sales supervisor Orval
Rowland. They are Ron Wilson,
Chuck Becker and Ken Tye.
Warehouse manager is Roy
Stover and service men are Lloyd
Eagleson and Ed Herm Peter
Gravlev also works part-time
with his father's company.
The four ladies who make up
the office staff are Mrs. Hugh
Wilson, Mrs. Ken Brydges, Mrs.
Jake Marks and Mrs. Lisbet
Grindlay.
The company's new plant con-
tains 10,400 square feet of space
and the office area measures
1,550 square feet.
The firm has two roles, in
that it serves as a wholesaler
in Ontario and acts as the manu-
facturers' representative in the
other provinces and states.
At the present time there are
400 dealers in Ontario. handling
