Dashwood man dies
—drove district stage

Arthur C. Willett, 82, passed
away in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, Monday, February 5. He
had been in good health until the
flu forced his Stay in hospital.
He drove the stage between
Dashwood and Parkhill for five
years then in 1013 he took up
farming in Stephen Township upon
retiring he lived in Exeter where
he worked for Guenther-Tuckey.
Finally he moved back to Dash-
wood where he has resided
since. His wife predeceased him
a number of years ago.
Surviving are three daughters,
Mrs. Alvin (Jean) Walper, Dash-
wood; Mrs. Edward (Grace)
Wurm, Exeter; Mrs. Stanley
(Reta) Slezak, Ottawa; two broth-
ers, Simon, Clinton; Otto, Stephen
Tp.; one sister, Mrs. William
(E m m a) Schroeder, Detroit;
three grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren.
The funeral was held Thursday
from the T. Harry Hoffman fun-
eral home with Rev. E. E. Stein-
man officiating. Interment was
made in ZionLutheran cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Ham-
acher, William and MiltonWil-
lert, Lloyd, Earl and Hugh Eagle-
son.
ENTERTAIN LADIES
Calvary United Church men
entertained the ladies as guests
for an evening of fellowship and
Shuffleboard in Dashweod Com-
munity Centre last Tuesday.
The election of officers was
held. President is Carl
Oestreicher; vice - president ,
L 10 yd Eagleson; treasurer,
Stuart Wolfe; secretary, Gordon
Bender.
Following shuffleboard a pro-
gram was given consisting of a
singsong, men's quartet (Harry
Hoffman, Jack Gaiser, Mervyn
Tiemah, and Stuart Wolfe) and
accordion solos by Patricia Ben-
der.
BIBLE CLASS FORMED
A. new ladies Bible Class was
formed with the chosen name the
W's (Worship, work and Win),
Officers are: president, Mrs.
Mervin 'nether': vice-president,
Mrs. Jessie Rader; secretary,
Mrs. Elgin Xipfer; assistant,
Mrs. Stuart Wolfe and treasurer,
Mrs. Lloyd Eagleson.

Mrs. Leonard Schenk and Eleanor
Wolfe are the leaders and 12 girls
are enrolled. Officers are: presi-

president, Barbara Grenier; sec-
retary, Darlene Rader.
Entertaining at home was dis-
cussed and the leaders showed
how to arrange flowers.

their annual meeting Wednesday
evening, January 31. Rev. T.
Elliott opened the meeting with
prayer.
The official Board of the chureh
are remaining in office until the
end of June.
DISCUSS CHURCH UNION
St. Paul's Fellowship Club met
Sunday evening in the church
basement with a large repre-
sentation from the United Church
present. Rev. T. Elliott of Kirk-
ton United and Rev. S. Bell of
St. Paul's Anglican led a dis-
cussion on church union. It was
a very interesting evening.
An invitation to hold the next
meeting at Kirkton United on
March 3 was accepted. Lunch
was served by the ladies.
