The dinner was arranged by the fam- ily in celebration of their father's 80th birthday. Attending from here were Mr. Schroeder, Reg. Harry, and Mr. and Mrs. Rus- sell Schroeder. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Greb, Mrs. Wayne Greb and children visited with Mr. Simon Greb at the Blue- water Rest Home in Zurich last Tuesday evening and helped him celebrate his 90th birthday. Mr. Greb is enjoying good health. Mrs. Lorne Hicks spent a few days last week in Toronto visit- ing with Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Hicks. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Stev- enson and son Jack of Avonbank were Saturday visitors with Mrs. Fred Howe and Alex. (Mr. Stev- enson Is a brother of Mrs. Howe.) COMMUNITY NIGHT The first community night was held Monday evening in Farqu- har Hall with ten tables of euchre in play. MESSENGERS MEET The Messengers met in the schoolroom of the church Sun- day morning. Lois Elliott read a poem and a story was read by Donna Wilson. Mrs. Harvey Smith told the story "Those Who Listened" from the study book. Plans were made for a skat- ing party to be held in the Exeter Arena on the firstSaturday after- noon in February. Boys and girls are to meet at the church at one o'clock and transportation will be provided. Mr. Ken Greb returned home Sunday after being hospitalized in South Huron Hospital since Friday morning following an ac- cident where he is employed with the O.D.C. at Centralia Industrial Park.
