The January meeting of the
Women's Institute was held Wed-
nesday evening, January 17. Roll
call was answered by quoting a
resolution which one could use
daily. It was decided to cater for
the Cubs arid the Federation of
Agriculture banquets in Feb-
ruary.
Mrs. Ross Haugh discussed
the motto "Good Resolutions Are
Not Worth Much Until They Ripen
into Actual Practice". Several
songs were sung by the mem-
bers.
Mr. Gordon Hill of Varna was
the guest speaker. He is a mem-
ber of the Farm Income Com-
mittee. In his talk he outlined
methods of increasing farm in-
come and following the address,
conducted a question and answer
period.
Hostesses were Mrs. Donald
Davey, Mrs. Cliff Kenney, Mrs.
Ross Haugh, Mrs. Philip Rud-
olph and Mrs. Leonard Wein.
PERSONALS
Mr. Harry Beaver is a resi-
dent of the Bluewater Rest Home,
Zurich, for the winter months.
Mrs. Harold Fahner and Rev-
erend Howard Zurbrigg attended
the meeting of the United Church
Huron-Perth Presbytery at Sea-
forth last Tuesday.
The two churches of Crediton
united for Week of Prayer ser-
vices last Wednesday and Thurs-
day. Wednesday evening the
meeting was in Zion United, with
Rev. Douglas Warren speaking on
private prayer. Thursday evening
in Credlton United, Rev. Zurbrigg
discussed the importance of cor-
porate prayer.

FREDERICK GENTTNER
Frederick Genttner, 91, passed
away at Huronview Horne, Clinton,
Saturday, January 20. His wife
predeceased him 20 years ago;
also a son Adolph.

London; Mrs. Ed Wright (Selma)
of London; Mrs. Fred Mireau

Rev. G. E. Morrow dedicated
a pair of brass candle holders
and candles for the Communion
table, in the service in the United
Church Sunday morning. These
were presented by the Harmony
Class.
A number of people in this
community were glad to have
wood stoves and oil burners in
their homes when the hydro was
off for a couple of days in many
homes during the Ice storm last
week. Those without hydro took
refuge with friends and relatives
who were more fortunate.
The death occurred in London
on Wednesday of Mrs. Walter
Toll. She was the former Addle
Mason and spent her girlhood
in this community.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Romphf
and family spent the weekend
with relatives in Detroit.
Miss Elda Brown is a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mrs. Ed Stewardson spent sev-
eral days at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Kelly Robinson near
Brinsley.
A number of reletives in this
community attended the funeral of
the late Mrs. Matthew steeper
in Parkhill on Friday. Flowers

The first congregational meet-
ing of calvary United Church.
Was held January 22, RePorte
for 1967 when the church Was
Evangelical United Brethren
were heerd.- All commitments-
end objectives were met. There
were 10 baptisme, nine fenerals
and one marriage.
The trustees reported that the
church exterior had been painted.
A new Gestetner had been pur-
chased for the church. A new
humidifier and aluminum storm
window purchased for the manse.
