Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gibbons and baby, London, and Mr. and Mrs. By MISS ELLA MORLOCK CREDITON The Christmas project of the Crediton Cub Pack was to give to the Crippled Children's Treat- ment Centre, London, the gifts they would ordinarily have given to one another at a Christmas party. A number of the Pack, accompanied by the leaders, took the gifts to the Centre and were shown, in guided tour, all the fine equipment used in thera- peutic work. The following Wednesday the Pack entertained their parents in the Community Hall. They presented three plays and sev- eral recitations, and conducted a singsong. Elizabeth Bender won the draw on the Christmas cake. EUB CONCERT Christmas Eve the EUB Sun- day School presented its concert entitled "It's Christmas" under the direction of Rev. Howard Zurbrigg assisted by the teachers of the school. The superintendent, Mr. Alf Smith,acted as chairman. A White Gift offering received during the service is to be divided among UNICEF, CARE, the Sal- vation Army, the Canadian Sun- day School Mission, the Canadian Bible Society and the Retarded Children Fund, Wednesday, December 2'7 the young people of the United Church and the Youth Fellowship of the EUB Church enjoyed a game of broomball at the Exeter Arena. Following the game they returned to the United Church for dough- nuts and hot chocolate. JOSEPH WEIN Joseph (Joe) Wein, 84, life- long resident of Stephen Town- ship, died Monday, January 1 in South Huron Hospital. He was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Wein and was born on Con. 8, homesteaded by his father. He and his brother Sam operated the farm following the death of their parents and Joe continued to live there after re- tirement. Three years ago fail- ing health prompted him to make his home with a nephew, Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Finkbeiner inCredi- ton. Four sisters and three broth- ers preceded him in death. Of the family of nine only one sister, Mrs. Alexander (Fredericka) Borland of Timmins survives. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 4, at the T. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. John Dickey were their cousins Mr. and Mrs. Sam Staley of Langton also Mrs. Inez Dickey and Joyce. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Elston were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Borden Smyth, Centralia, and had as their g u e s t s for Christmas supper two Korean Boys from Huron Park. They also entertained their family on Dec. 27th, also Mr. Leonard Wilson of Centralia; Miss Sylvia Webb, Hyde Park and Mr. Tom Hardy, Lucan. They were guests of their Uncle Mr. Clarence Fletcher, Woodham, on Boxing Day. They have spent 26 Boxing Days at his home without missing any.
