At the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Roy Scott, 309 Durand St,
Sarnia, on Saturday, Dec. 16,
Sarah (Oliver) Patterson, 94,
Widow of the late Wm Patterson
of Grand Bend, died.
She is survived by one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Roy (Gladys) Scott and
one son, Warren, both of Sarnia,
also four grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Mon-
day film the T. Harry Hoffman
funeral home, Dashwood, with
Rev. G, E. Morrow officiating.
Interment was in Grand Bend
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don and
Glenn Scott, Alex Hamilton,
Garry, Ray and Johnston Patter-
son.

The Christmas meeting of the
afternoon unit of the UCW was
held Thursday. Mrs, Alex Ham-
ilton conducted the worship ser-
vice using the history of Christ-
mas Carols. She was assisted by
Mrs. Wellwood Gill with Mrs.
Charles Reeves at the piano.
Mrs. Raymond Kading gave the
study book chapter, Mrs. Wm
Love will take study book in
January.
Mrs. Hamilton presided for
the business. Mrs. Hamilton will
be leader of the unit for 1968
and Mrs. Elgin Webb, secretary.
Lunch was served by Mrs. D.
Gill and Mrs. W. Gill.

Once again, judges of the decorated homes contest in Exeter are
going to have a difficult chore as more and more residents are
adorning their homes with festive decorations. On some streets,
practically every home is decorated. Rural residents have also
joined in the practice and a drive throughout the are most enjoy-
able. The home above is that of Mr, and Mrs. Doug Wedlake, Huron
St. West.

Mr. Leo Regier suffered a
severe heart attack last Sunday
morning and was rushed by
ambulance to Westminster Hos-
pital.
Mr. Hubert Desjardine suf-
fered a bad cut on his hand
requiring several stitches while
cutting wood Saturday with his
chainsaw.
Mr. Jerry Campbell is a pat-
ient in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, and Mrs. Earl Stebbins
is a patient in St. Joseph's Hos-
pital, London.

for the December CWL meeting
of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel last
week held for first time in the
new gymtorium. President Mrs.
Clem McCann and secretary Mrs.
Wm Muller conducted a short
meeting then a very enjoyable
program was given by all the New
Canadian Holland ladies of the
Parish telling of how Christmas
was held in their homeland. Lunch
was served by program ladies
and was enjoyed by all.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Micallif,
Windsor, spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Carey and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeromkin Sr. of
Toronto spent the weekend with
their son, Mr. and Mrs. Claus
Jeromkin and family.

village were lucky turkey win-
ners at Corbett Bingo last week;
Dan McCann, Margaret Anne
Hogan and Barb McCann.
Rev. Basil Sullivan CSB of
Lethbridge, Alta., and Rev. Basil
Glavin CSB Owen Sound, have
returned to their parishes after
attending Rev. Edward Johnson's
First Mass and Reception held in
Sacred Heart Parish, Parkhill,
and visiting with Mr. and Mrs.

was held Sunday morning at a

School. Mr. Donald Brine, Sun-
day School superintendent, led
the service. The children filed
into the church with their teach-
ers and placed their gifts in the
basket under the Christmas tree.
Miss June King gave a reading.
Brenda Parkinson and Kathy
Thacker favored with a duet. The
scripture was read by Deborah
Jaques and Lori e Webb. The choir
rendered an anthem and Mrs.
James Miller told the story.
Later in the day the White
Gifts were delivered to the
Saugeen Indian Reserve along
with several boxes of clothing.

home from St. Marys Memorial
Hospital Sunday after being a
