By MRS, FRED BOWDEN The annual Sunday School Con- cert was held in the schoolroom of the church Saturday night, The classes instructed by the teach- ers displayed their talents and presented an evening of good entertainment. To climax the event Santa Claus arrived amidst the jingling of bells to distribute the gifts, Rev. Wilson was chairman of the program. WHITE GIFT SERVICE White Gift Sunday was observed in the United Church Sunday morning. The printed order of service was followed with ReV. Wilson in charge of the service. A story was told by Gail Lam- port. The choir sang an anthem and a vocal trio by Mrs. V. Drought, Mrs. K. Hodgins and Mrs. Russell Wilson. Santa and his helpers One of the busiest fellows this time of the year is Santa Claus. The jolly fellow in the red suit was among the visitors at Usborne Central school's variety show Thursday and Friday. Overholt at- tended the Ellis Don Christmas party held at Hotel London Sat- urday night. Mr. Fred Howe is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London. Miss Mabel Refoir of London is spending a few weeks at the "home of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Ctin- Dington, Nrs, Lorne Ricks entertained a third group of Korean students to dinner at her home following the church service on Sunday. Her guests included Mr. Kim, Dong Skin, Mr. Park, Chung Sun, Mr. Park, Jung Num, Mr. Lee, Sang Ha, Mr. Kim, Kwang Ho, Mr, Song, Dong Hun, Mr. Han, Lee Sang, Mr. Kim, Chong ik, Mr. Kim, Dae IViook. Following dinner the students instructed their hostess in the art of playingKor- ean games, Mr. Wellington Skinner was a weekend visitor with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Nor- man Morgan and family in Mel- bourne. Visitors during the past week at the home of Mr. & Mrs. John Thompson were Mr. & Mrs. Car- man Dawdy of Iona, Mr. & Mrs. J. S. Thompson and Mr, Mac Thompson, Mr. & Mrs. Roy Rob- inson, Mr. Cam Thompson of Listowel and Mr. & Mrs. Chas McKeever of Clinton. Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Wm, Haddock were Mr. & Mrs. Les Richardson of Tor- onto, Mr. Gordon Baynham of Exeter and Mr. George Baynham, Mr. Glen Overholt spent the weekend with Miss Shirley Heind- rick in Hamilton. Kin spread cheer to local shut-ins Members of the Exeter Kinsmen and Kinettes made their annual visits to local shut-ins and patients at South Huron Hospital, Thursday, delivering Christmas packages and plants. Kin president Ed Hearn and Mrs. Jim Newby are shown presenting a plant to Frank Glanville, Crediton, a patient in South Huron Hospital. After reports, plans were made for catering to a smor- gasbord in Lucan Arena Dec. 29. A Christmas gift exchange took place, from a lighted Christmas tree. Refreshments were served. KEN McKELLAR CROMARTY Cromarty Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. T. L. Scott, with Mrs. Gerald Carey pre- siding. She opened the meeting with a poem, "Advent 196'7", followed with Christmas Carols. Devotions were led by Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Laverne Wallace. The roll call was answered by naming a last-minute Christmas gift. Following the business the an- nual meeting was held, reports being given by Mrs. Robert Laing, Mrs. T, L, Scott, Mrs. E. Allen and Mrs. M. Dow. Mrs. John Miller presided for the election of officers. Mrs. Grace Scott led in the Christmas program in the Glad Tidings, with Mrs. Calder Mc- Kaig, Mrs. W. Harper, Mrs. T. L. Scott, Miss Olive Speare, Mrs. E. Moore, Mrs. M. Dow, Mrs. T. Laing, Mrs. K. McKel- lar leading in devotions. Scrip- ture readings were interspersed with Christmas carols. As each one read a Christmas meditation and scripture a candle was lit. Prayer for missionaries was led by Mrs. Lamond, Mrs. R. Dodds read an article on "Friendship". Mrs. T. L. Scott sang a solo, "0 Little Town of Bethlehem".
