The four pee wee teams have
each been given one hour of

After four losses in a row, the
Rangers were able to gain a 1-1
tie with Boston. Captain Ken
Pinder was the Ranger marksman
and Doug Easton scored for Bos-
ton late in the game. We had two
youthful coaches for this game
as Steven Willert handled the
Rangers and Brian Taylor was the
mastermind for Boston.
Once again I would like to
thank Ron Braid for the wonderful
job he is doing with the Mites
and Squirts. Each Saturday morn-
ing you can see Ron out on the ice
with 20 to 30 of the smaller boys,
teaching them how to skate, shoot
and carry the puck. A great im-
provement can be seen for his
efforts.
Boston defeated Chicago (for-
merly Montreal) by a score of
5-0 In afternoon bantam action.
I wonder if the name change will
help? Randy Gilfillan scored two
and singles were added by John
Krampp, peter Glover and Perry
Stover to account for the Boston
markers.
Last Thursday was the start
of the juvenile and junior hockey
and about 18 boys were on hand
for the first game. This week they
will play Thursday at 7 but in the
following weeks, games will be
held Tuesdays from 7 to 9.
Games this week:
8-9 Seals vs Penguins
9-10 Panthers vs Kings
10-11 Rangers vs Boston
11-12 Mites and Squirts
4-5 Boston vs Chicago
The novice, bantam and midget
All-Star clubs are entered in area
tournaments over the holidays.
The novice boys play on De-
cember 27 at the Oakridge arena
at 1 o'clock. The bantams and
midgets play in two different
tourneys with all games at the
Gardens in London.
Figure skating lessons will be
on December 26 and January 2
from 9 am to 2:30 pm. instead
of Mondays for the holidays.
The junior Hawks are starting
to play a pleasing brand of hockey
and with a few breaks will be in
or near the top of the league in
the not too distant future.
