Three 4-H Club girls received provincial honor certificates and pins for completing 12 projects re-

Mrs. Ian McAllister, Zurich,
former Huron home economist,
in her comments said the com-
mentators were good, also the
posters and flip charts and plenty
of action and humor held the
attention of the audience. She
questioned in some cases whether
in having so much fun they forgot
to give the information they need-
ed to.
Displayed around the auditor-
ium were the record books and
accessories such as bedspreads,
pillows, scarfs, mats and waste-
paper baskets made by each girl.
This display made many an adult
wish she had had the same op.
portunities and felt the 4-1-1 pro-
ject well worthwhile.
MisS Carroll presented cer-
tificates and teaspoons to each
girl completing the project.
The next club will be The Club

held Saturday at South Huron
District High School for the pro-
ject Cotton Accessories for the
Bedroom.
Provincial honors were won
by Sharon passmore, Lynn Otis
and Mrs. Judith Johns, The honor
pins and certificates were pre-
sented by Mrs, Wilfred Mack,
president of South Huron District
WI, who commended the leaders
for their time and effort and the
girls for working for six years
to achieve the honors.
Mrs. Mack also presented
county honors and pins to Karen
and Jean Jennison, Diane Neevel,
Debora Stephenson, Dianne Shap-
ton, pain Sereda, Joanne Hod-
gert, Karen Rodd ; Betty Jean
Miller, Janice Morley and Brenda
Skinner.
Miss Sharon Carroll, Huron
home economist, presided for
the afternoon's program of ex-
hibits, skits and demonstrations,
Exhibits on Cotton Accessories
and Color Schemes for the Bed-
room had as commentators Donna
Whitehouse for Kippen; Anne
Hayter for Varna; Diane Neevel
for Hurondale 11; Sandra Skin-
ner for Elimville 11 and Angela
Morrissey for Crediton 111. Mrs.
Ruby Axtmann of Auburn com-
mented favorably on this feature
of the program.

Mr. and Mrs. Ira Stebbins,
Grand Bend, celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary with
a family dinner last Sunday at
the Knotty Pine Restaurant, Lon-
don, and open house on Tuesday,
December 5 when over 100
friends and relatives called to
extend best wishes.
Attending the dinner were Mr.
and Mrs. Ivan Sharrow and Mr.
and Mrs, Arnold Geiser; grand-
children, Mr. and Mrs. IanDick,
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne O'Rourke,
Mr. Brian Sharrow and Miss
Janice Sharrow, and two great-
grandchildren, Steven and
Carolyn O'Rourke.
Mr. and Mrs. Stebbins, the
former Hazel Webb, were mar-
ried at Grand Bend Presbyterian
manse by Rev. Sam Carriere on
December 5, 1917, They farmed
about three miles south of Grand
Bend until retiring to the village
20 years ago,
They have two daughters, Mrs.
Ivan Sharrow and Mrs. Arnold
Geiser, four grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
The couple received over 100
congratulatory cards and many
messages of goodwill.

Officers for the coming year
for the Exeter TOPS club were
elected at the meeting December
6. Leader is Mrs. D. Gould, co-
leader, Mrs. Bill Johns; sec-
retary, Mrs. L. L. Wells; treas-
urer, Mrs. G. Shipman; photo-
grapher, Mrs. D. Skinner; sun-
shine girl, Mrs. L. Jory; social
committee, Mrs. Bob Johns, Mrs.
S. Obre, Mrs. C. Dittmer; re-
porter, Mrs. C. Dittmer.
The Christmas party is being
held next week when gifts will
be exchanged and ideas dis-
cussed for next year.
Two TOPS graduated during the
year, Mrs. J, Thompson and
Mrs. D. McLeod. There are three
more coming up in January.
In place of the customary "Draw"
we are donating $50.00 to the
local Muscular Dystrophy Fund,

Mrs. Lawrence Wein led in the
worship period. The program was
convened by unit 3 with Mrs.
Winston Shapton as leader and
Mrs. Gerald Godbolt presiding.
President Mrs. Ken Ottewell
conducted a brief business period
when it was disclosed that the
196'7 Allocation had been reached
and it was voted to give $500 to
"Over 'and Above Gifts" of the
United Church, Mrs. Douglas Ins-
ley presented the slate of officers
for 1968 and they were installed
by Rev. S. E. Lewis.

the setting for the double ring
ceremony uniting in marriage
Miss Sharon Rose Nicholson,
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Edward
Bloomfield, Grand Bend, and
Ernest Hugh Clark, son of Mr,
and Mrs. Charles R. Clark, Thed-
ford, on Saturday, November 25
at 3 pm. Rev. H. L. Yarr of-
ficiated.
Given in marriage by her father
the bride wore a period gown of
pink boucle with panel of white
lace and matching veil. She car-
ried a fan-shaped bouquet of red
roses.
Bridal attendants were Miss
Cynthia Graves, Exeter, Mrs.
Marlene Lasenby, London, sis-
ter of the bride, and Miss Joan
Clark, Hamilton, sister of the
groom, all wearing gowns of pale
blue boucle trimmed with blue
velvet ribbon with matching hair-
bows. Each carried a nosegay
of pink carnations.
Bill Hilborn, Woodstock, was
best man and ushers were Larry
MacDougall, Port Huron, and
Clifford Giles, Wallaceburg.
The reception was held in the
church rooms where the bride's
mother received guests wearing
a dark brown wool suit with brown
accessories. The groom's
mother chose a turquoise dress
with brown accessories. Each
wore a corsage of yellow roses.

TURKEYS
Members of the Hospital Aux-
iliary were the guests of the
Hospital staff at the Tuesday
afternoon meeting. Miss Myrtle
Ninham, director of nursing, ex-
tended a welcome to the mem-
bers and presided for a program
which included the singing of
Christmas carols led by Mrs.
Bob Hoffman of Dashwood and
accompanied at the piano by Mrs.
Amiel Willard. Mrs. Hoffman also
favored with three solos in keep-
ing with the Christmas season.
Lunch was served in the Board
room and Mrs. Harold Taylor
moved a vote of thanks to the
staff. All were pleased to have
Miss Claypole out after her re-
cent illness.
Prior to the program a brief
business meeting was conducted
by the newly elected president
Mrs. Glenn Mickle, A communi-
cation from Mr. F. Wilkinson,
area superintendent of schools,
regarding an organization meet-
ing at Exeter Public School of a
local unit of the Retarded Child-
ren's Association was discussed
and the appointment of repre-
sentatives was deferred till the
January meeting.
Mrs. Ralph Bailey reported
the hospital cart would be dis-
played in the hospital hall two
days a week until Christmas.
Conveners mentioned the plans
for Christmas favors, treats and
decorations at the hospital were
well in hand. Mrs. J. G. Dunlop,
convener of public relations, of-
fered suggestions for promoting
good public relations as dis-
cussed at a committee meeting.
These will be further dealt with
at the next meeting.
The Auxiliary now has a mem-
bership of 141.
