Mr. Orville Smith is a patient in South Huron Hospital. Mrs. Grace Ha.rpole left Thursday for Ottawa to spend the winter months with her son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. B. II. Peacock and family, Mrs. Ella Drysdale and Mr. and Mrs. Ed McBride attended the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Sunday. Fran Frank Campbellof Caro, Mich., The Misses Beth Troyer and Brenda Koehler were welcomed into Fellowship by Profession of Faith during Holy Communion Service at Carmel Presbyterian Church Sunday morning, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Eller of Toronto spent a few days with Mrs. Hugh McMurtrie. General Coach will be hosts for their staff and employees at a Christmas party at Exeter Legion Hall this Friday evening December 15. A banquet will pre- cede the evening's entertainment. There will be awards presented. Mrs. Ken Pollock was the win- ner of a turkey at the annual Fowl Bingo held in Hayfield Town Hall Friday night. Mrs. Lloyd Mousseau and Mrs. Don Mousseau conducted the wor- ship period using the theme "A World Prepares". Fifteen members answered the roll call by naming a Christmas carol. Mrs. Earl Campbell installed the 1968 officers. Members ex- changed gifts with their sunshine pals. Hostesses were Mrs. John Baker, Mrs. Harold Knight and Mrs. R. Vanstone. Mrs, John Corbett, Noble Grand, presided for the meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge on Wed- nesday evening. Mrs. Earl Camp- bell reported for the visiting committee. Mrs. Alex MacBeath, finance committee and Mrs. Clarence Volland for CPT com- mittee. Arrangements were made for "Friendship Night" to be held early in the new year. Donations were voted to Sick Childrens War Memorial Hos- pital, London. Mrs. Ed Corbett, treasurer, gave a report of the proceeds. The Christmas party was held following the regular meeting. Mrs. Robert Pryde favored with piano numbers and led in the singing of Christmas carols. Mrs. MacBeath favored with a reading. Kinettes, UCW fete district folk Mrs. Jim Hyde was hostess at her home Wednesday evening, December 6 for the Christmas meeting of Hensall Kinettes. A letter was read from the group's adopted girl in Italy. Discussion centered around the March of Dimes scheduled for January 29. They assisted the Kinsmen with Senior Citizens night held Wednesday, Decem- ber 13 when the Kinsmen char- tered a bus to take the senior citizens on a bus tour of the area to view Christmas decor- ations. Mrs. Robt. Caldwell won the raffle. Next meeting is to be held at the home of Mrs. Wm Fuss, January 10. GIVE CHRISTMAS CHEER Thirty-six Christmas pack- ages were given out last week to sick and shut-in members of Hensall United Church, patients at South Huron Hospital, Blue Water Rest Home and Huron- view. It was a project of the UCW. Convener was Mrs. R. J. Drys- dale; helpers, Mrs. Lorne Hay, Mrs. Jack Simmons, Mrs. Wm Clement, Mrs. Wilmer Ferg- uson, Mrs. Harvey Keys, Mrs. A. W. Shirray, Church women elect new slate Hensall UCW Unit 4 held a Christmas Fellowship meeting Thursday, December 7 with thirty two members and five guests present. The program which commenced at 10 am included quilting, knitting and visiting, with a pot luck dinner served at noon. Worship service was conducted by Mrs. E. Rowe and Mrs. Leona Parke. An interesting part of the program was for each person to say something nice about the person to the left of them. The following are the executive for 1968: Leader, Mrs. James McAllister; secretary, Mrs. R. M, Peck; treasurer, Mrs. T. J. Sherritt, asst., Mrs. George Armstrong; pianist, Mrs. Sher- ritt. Christmas stockings were handed out to members which will be filled for women patients at the Ontario Hospital, Goderich, Jimmy McCann of Delaware High School spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill McCann and family. Miss Shirley Ryan is reported making improvement in Seaforth General Hospital after surgery she received three weeks ago in that hospital. Mr. Leo Regier has returned home after being confined to Westminster Hospital, London, for many weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bradley and family, Petrolia, visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ryan, Corbett. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carey, Rita Anne, Valerie and Colleen Carey. visited Saturday with Mr, and Mrs. Clare Rock and family of Wallaceburg. Scott Regier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Regier, had a tonsil- ectomy in South Huron Hospital last week. Miss Nora Hall has returned home after a pleasant sight- seeing trip of many weeks through the countries of Europe. Miss Judy and Nancy Ryan visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ryan, on weekend. After returning back to Dela- ware High School Sunday evening, Jimmy McCann broke his leg while playing hockey with his classmates. He is now a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital. By MRS. WM. Mr. & Mrs. Murray Coward, Pamela and Jeffery of Sunshine Line visited Thursday evening with Mrs. John Coward. Mr. & Mrs. Rueben Phelke of Monkton visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Sanford Hutton, Dennis and Dianne. Said the kind old lady to the Internal Revenue clerk, "I do hope you'll give my money to some nice, friendly country."
