Miss Carolynne Ann Pratt,
daughter of Mrs. Kathleen Pratt,
London, and the late Douglas R.
Pratt, and Thomas Leroy Hern,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G.
Hern, RR I, Woodham, were un-
ited in marriage at St. Mark's
Anglican Church on. Saturday,
November 4 at 7 pm with Rev.
Pater Dymond officiating.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her grandfather, Mr.
Herbert Pratt of Edmonton, Alta.
She wore an A-line floor-length
gown of silk organza over taf-
feta that formed into a small
train. The bodice featured a
shallow scoop neckline and long
lily point sleeves. A cap of three
delicate bells held her three-
tiered illusion veil. She carried a
bouquet of yellow and bronze
mums with yellow roses.
Miss Nancy Pratt, London, sis-
ter of the bride, was maid of
honor in a floor-length green
peau de sole A-line gown. The
bodice featured an empire waist
and scalloped neckline. Brides-
maids Miss Sheila Bern, sister
of the groom, Miss Barbara
Unger and Miss Georgene Mc-
Cartney. both of London, were
dressed similarly to the maid of
honor. They carried bouquets
of white daisies with matching
floral headbands.
Best man was Wayne Hern,
brother of the groom, RR 1
Woodham. Another brother, Ron
Hern, Exeter, and William and
Wayne Pratt, brothers of the
bride, both of London, ushered
guests.
A reception was held at the
Administration Building, Queen's
Park, London, The bride's
mother wore a two-piece dress
of mauve brocade with silver
accessories, The groom's
mother chose a costume in kelly
green and blue with black acces-
sories.
For travelling to Florida and
surrounding territories the bride
Changed to a two-piece pink It-
alian knit suit, fur jacket and a
white orchid corsage,
The couple are residing on the
groom's farm, RR 1 Woodham.
BRIDE HONORED
Prior to the wedding the bride
was honored at showers given
by Barbara Unger, Barbara Hern
and staff of Department of High-
ways at the home of Miss Geor-
gina McCartney. The bride's
mother also held a trousseau
tea honoring her daughter.

Ladies arrange
for Christmas
The ladies of the WMC of Ex-
eter Pentecostal Assembly met
at the home of Mrs. Clifford
Blanchard with 11 in attendance.
Mrs. Percy Bodaly gave an
address on Faith in relation to
the Lord's second coming. This
was followed by a session of
prayer.
Arrangements were made for
the Christmas meeting. Presi-
dent Mrs. Keith McLaren pre-
sided for the opening devotion
and Mrs. F. E. Rhude led in the
opening and closing prayers.
Lunch was served by the hos-
tess assisted by Mrs. Daniel
Finkbeiner.

of pink and white carnations.

and white pew markers formed
the setting for the wedding at
which Rev. H. A. Seegmiller of-
ficiated. Organist David Elston
played the wedding music.

At the meeting of Hurondale
WI in Caven Presbyterian Church
last Wednesday evening, Mrs.
Patricia McVittie of the Rehab-
ilitation Centre, Toronto, spoke
on help given to disabled adults
19 years and over. This is where
the contributions to the March of
Dimes is used.
She said the case worker de-
cided what method of help is
required for each individual per-
son sent to the centre and many
people are helped to the extent
they are able to earn their own
living. Anyone knowing a dis-
abled adult should contact the
Centre in Toronto, London or
we wish to extend a cordial
invitation for you to attend our

Members of McGillivray WI
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Earl Morley last Wednesday
evening answered the roll call
by telling "What I have done
to improve my education since
I left school."
A paper "What is education"
referring to 'the past, present
and future of the schools was
given by Mrs. Mac Allison after
which she passed around pic-
tures of different prominent
people in the news of today which
the members were to name and
tell what they knew about them.
A report of the London area
convention was given by Mrs.
Fraser Dixon. A story of the
highlights of the life of Hester
Walker was presented by Mrs.
Wilfred Dixon. Mrs. Karl Pick-
ering read a poem "Why wear
a Poppy?".
Mrs. Tom Kooy, first vice-
president, presided for the meet-
ing. The December meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs.
Les Morley on Wednesday after-
noon, December 13 at 2:15.
Mary Forrest, granddaughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence For-
rest, Brucefield, and Raymond
Henry Leibold, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Leibold, RR 3 Zur-
ich, on Saturday, November 25
at 7 pm,
Rev. H. G. Zurbrigg officiated
and Mrs. E. Fahrner played the
wedding music.
The bride chose for her wed-
ding a white silk floor-length
dress with matching Chantilly
lace jacket. The empire style
dress was styled with scalloped
neckline and long lily point
sleeves? and a bow at the back
from which fell a chapel train.
She wore a matching headpiece
with a cluster of white roses
and carried a spray of 16 red
roses and mums edged in gold
with red velvet ribbon streamers.
Miss Margaret Forrest was
maid of honor for her sister
wearing a formal gold silk gown
in empire style with matching
accessories. She carried gold
mums with green ribbon
streamers. Flower girl was
Rosemary Kowatsch and ring-
bearer, Jeffery Kowatsch, both
of Stratford.

Given in marriage by her fath-
er the bride wore a formal gown
of white sanista styled with scoop
neckline, long lily-point sleeves
and full skirt trimmed with Gui-
pure lace. Back interest was
the cathedral train trimmed with
Guipure lace. A pillbox of the
same material held her bouffant
veil. She carried red roses and
ivy with red velvet streamers.
Maid of honor was Miss Helen
Campbell, London, wearing a
royal blue French crepe skirt
with top in deeper blue velvet
fashioned on empire style with
scoop neckline, short sleeves and
long floor panel at back topped
with bow. She wore a matching
headpiece of the velvet and car-
ried a hand cluster of white and
dark blue mums with white velvet
streamers. Bridesmaids, Miss
Kathy Wells, Exeter, sister of
the bride, and Mrs. Connie
Greenacre, St. Marys, dressed
identically to the maid of honor.
Robert Hickson, Lucan was
best man and Fred Wells, broth-
er of the bride and Ross Hayter,
brother of the groom, ushered
guests.
A reception was held in Trivitt
Parish Hall where the bride's
mother received in a pink and
gold brocade gown with black
accessories and the gro o m's
mother chose winter white crepe
with black accessories.
Kitchener. Mrs. McVittie show-
ed slides of the work at the
Centre.
Mrs. Lena Kirkland, convener
of Home Economics and Health,
chaired the program. Mrs. Hed-
ley May discussed the motto,
Success comes in cans, Failures
in Can'ts. Comments of interest
on Manitoba were given by Mrs.
Andy Carter. Roll call was an-
swered by doing a morning ex-
ercise—many took part and all
others paid a 10 cent fine.
During the business session
President Mrs. Lloyd Ballan-
tyne was in the chair. Mrs. Ray
Cann, delegate to the London
Area Convention, gave an in-
teresting report on the Tuesday
proceedings and Mrs. Mervyn
Dunn gave the Wednesday high-
lights. Mrs. Harry Strang, Hur-
ondale member, was re-elected
as Area President. The area
convention in 1968 will be held
November 5 and 6 in Trinity
United Church, Ingersoll.
Mrs. Mac Hodgert reported
on the Board of Directors meet-
ing in Hensall. Achievement day
will be held in South Huron Dis-
trict High School December 9.
The 1968 District Annual will be
held in Grand Bend May 23.
A gift was presented to Mrs.
Warren Brock in appreciation
for her contribution to the Cen-
tennial Committee in the in-
terests of Hurondale.
Mrs. William Dougall and Mrs.
Mervyn Dunn will demonstrate
"Baking With Yeast" at the De-
cember meeting. Summary Day
will be held in January. Don-
ations of jams and jellies are
to be brought to the Christmas
meeting December 12.
Courtesies were extended by
Mrs. Rhiney Keller. Hostesses
were Mrs. Jean Morgan, Mrs.
Ernie Pym, Mrs. Harry Dougall
and Mrs. Bev Alexander.
Couple honored
on anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Davey,
Waterloo St., celebrated their
40th wedding anniversary Thurs-
day, November 30, with a dinner
at the Dufferin Hotel. Those at-
tending were Mr. and Mrs. Reg
Elliott and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Don Davey and family. They re-
turned to the Davey residence
and spent a social evening.
Santa visits
Sorority fete
Mrs. Jack Taylor was hostess
for the Christmas meeting of
Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Chapter
Tuesday evening. A "do-it-your-
self" program was featured when
each member contributed to the
program either in Christmas
skits, readings, and presenta-
tions.
Mrs. William Batten as Santa
Claus distributed the Secret Pal
gifts reading a verse appropo
to each one as they were called.
Mrs. Kevin Delbridge auction-
ed Christmas items contributed
by each member realizing a fair
amount for the treasury. This
was arranged by the Ways and
Means committee, Mrs. Taylor,
Mrs. Dwayne Tinney and Mrs.
Delbridge.
Assisting the hostess in serv-
ing a lunch of Chinese food were
Mrs. William Belling, Mrs. Rob-
ert Pooley, Mrs. John Cross and
Mrs. Batten.
