ROSS SKINNER Cpl. and Mrs. Bill Heywood, Karen and Darlene of La Macaza Quebec, Mrs. Keith Heywood and Kathleen of South Germany and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Heywood of Elimville spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Armstrong of RR 1 St. Marys, and also watched and enjoyed the St. Marys Christmas parade. Cpl. and Mrs. Bill Heywood Karen and Darlene of La Macaza, Quebec, returned home after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Heywood for the weekend. Cpl. and Mrs. Keith Heywood and Kathleen have returned to Germany, where Keith has been stationed for eight years, Keith had to return to duty in a few days but Mrs. Heywood and Kath- leen were able to stay another week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Heywood. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Armstrong and Mrs. Hubert Heywood, while seeing Mrs. Keith Heywood and Kathleen off to Germany at the 'Trenton Air Base, saw Miss Canada, also Mr. Gordie Tapp and his troop board the same plane. Mr. & Mrs. Don Wilcox and family spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Routly. Mr. & Mrs. John Batten, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Fletcher, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Hern attended a square dance at King George School at Guelph, Saturday evening. The Elimville UCW December meeting will be held at the church Monday afternoon, Dec. 18, in- stead of Dec. 11. The Baby Band and mothers are invited guests. Mr. Larry and Dale Skinner at- tended the 4-H Agriculture Achievement Night at Seaforth District High School, Friday evening. A number of ladies attended the Stephen Township Sr. Citizens banquet at Crediton Community Centre last Tuesday evening and presented a musical number. In Wednesday's weekly triple- header at the arena against Lucan, the local pee wees were on the short end of a 7-2 count, the bantams fashioned an 11-0 shutout and the midgets gained a 3-3 draw. Travelling to Strathroy on Monday, the pee wees were again on the short end of the score this time 3-2 while the bantams were victorious 8-1. In the only squirt action of the week, the Exeter boys played a 2-2 tie with Lambeth in Lucan, Saturday. STOVER NETS TWO Perry Stover was the top pee wee scorer over the week's play, getting a goal in each game. Paul Robinson notched the other Exeter counter against Lucan while John Muller was the ad- ditional marksman in Strathroy. that was in an exhibition Con- test. The Hawks took on the Zurich Flyers of the district WOAA intermediate grouping as part of the festivities in connection with Friday's official re-opening of the Babe Siebert Memorial arena and Zurich Community Centre, The local juniors jumped into an early four-goal lead and were able to stay well in front the rest of the way to post an 8.4 victory, Captain Larry Willert started the Hawks off with a successful slap shot from the blueline in the first minute of play. Suc- cessive scores from the sticks of Bill Fairbairn, Bruce For- rest and Rick McDonald put the Exeterites ahead 4-0 before Jim Consitt broke the scoring ice for Zurich. McDonald with his second tally of the game and Scott Burton's solo rush upped the Exeter lead to 6-1, At this point the Flyers perked up a bit with Bill Hoff- man, Bob Merner and former Hawk coach Earl Wagner find- ing the scoring mark. Grant Walker scored for the Hawks midway through the third period and Fairbairn added his second of the night in the dying moments of the game to com- plete the scoring. The Hawks get back to Blue- picking up two -wins. Larry Bourne was the top scorer in the 7-2 winover Lucan, scoring three times while Allan Parsons, Ronnie Lindenfield and Randy Preszcator notched two goals each and were added by Brad Klumpp and Randy QUM- lan. prerscator took over as the top scorer against Strathroy with a hat trick performance. Parsons was close behind with a two goal effort and Klumpp, Bourne and Robert Ryckrean chipped in with single counters. MIDGETS TIE AGAIN The midgets, coached by Lorne Haugh, gained their fourth tie of the year, a 3-3 stalemate against Lambeth. Tom Prout tallied twice to lead the Exeter attack and Bob Rowe accounted for the third marker. The Exeter squirts coached by Jim pinder and Murray Moore came up with a good team effort in gaining the 2-2 tie against Lambeth in Lucan, Saturday. Brian Taylor scored both Exeter goals. The Turtles are right behind with 31 while the Cleaners and Featherflights follow with re- spective point totals of 30 and 29. In the individual standings, Bill Smith's five wins on Friday moved him into the lead in the most wins department with 17 and into a tie with Gerald Law- son and Larry Estey in the high single section. Each has amassed a score of 140 during the season to date. The ladies' statistics remain unchanged with Annie Lawson leading in high single with 130 and Edna Dietz's 11 wins top in the games won department.
