They were presented by Mrs. Delbert Geiger of South Huron District WI. Two girls were missing from the picture, Misses Jean and Karen Jennison, Grand Bend. Miss McMillen brought greetings from Huron Division and spoke briefly to the girls and their mothers. Rev. Seegmiller made the presentation of Religion and Life emblems to Susan and Debi Wood- en. The program for the evening comprised enrolment and badge presentations to members of the two Brownie Packs and Guide Company. Miss McMillen enrolled Shan- non Dougherty, Gail Patterson, Viola Tait, Heather Tisdale, Kathryn Willard andConnie Mills from 1st Pack and Heather Doug- herty, Hannah Mathers, Lyn Clarke and Susan Brintnell from 2nd Pack, also enrolled as Guides were Laurie Simms, Kathy East- on, Mary Ellen Horrell, Brenda Snell and Cynthia Gunn. The following Brownies re- ceived their Golden Bars from District Commissioner Mrs. Robt. Luxton—Cathy Wooden, Kim McCaffrey, Joan Wright and Joanne Luxton from 1st Pack, Cathy Fuller and Nancy Whiting from Second Pack. Proficiency badges and service stars were given to Brownies in both Packs by their leaders, Highlight of the evening for the Brownies was the Flying-up Ceremony of two Brownies from each Pack. Golden Hands were presented to Coleen Lysack and Valerie Sweet by their Brown Owl, Mrs. Mike Lysack and Jean Luxton and Debbi Potter also re- ceived their Golden Hands from Brown Owl, Miss Susan Graves. The girls then received their Wings from Miss Mclvlillen and were mel by their Patrol Leaders and welcomed into the Guide Company by Captain Mrs. Alvin Cudmore. Susan Wooden was presented with her Guide Second Class Bad- ge by Mrs. Luxton. Many of the Guides earned Proficiency Bad- ges-13 Badges in all were given to members of the Company along with Service Stars. The presenta- tions were made by Captain Mrs. Alvin Cudmore, Lieutenant Mrs. Reid Hackwell. Mrs. R. W. Read presented seven Guides with their Home Nurse Badge. Mrs. Cudmore was presented with her 1st Class Pinby District KLEENEX 200's OR 300's Commissioner Mrs. Robert Lux- ton. The evening ended with songs being sung by the Brownies and Guides. This was one of the largest badge presentations in quite some time for the girls. Brownies, Motiwrs and Leaders gathered at the Legion Hall Fri- day evening to attend the annual mother and daughter banquet held by the local groups. Cheryl Sweet proposed the toast to the mothers. with Mrs. Mel Gaiser replying on behalf of the mothers. Debbie Potter proposed the toast to the Queen. Letters of gratitude were read from Miss Agnes Lizmore of Westminster Hospital regarding the ladies holding a bingo for the patients. Plans were also made to make the annual trip to the hospital to wrap Christmas par- cels in December. Donations of $25 were made to Muscular Dystrophy, Children's War Memorial Hospital and Beck Sanitarium. Arrangements are under way for the annual Legion Christmas party to be held De- cember 17. Winner of the monthly draw was Mrs. Eric Heywood. Lucky plate winner was Mrs. Norman Norry. Lunch was enjoyed after the meeting and was served by Mrs. Ross Oke and her group. Winter Carnival of Values from Achievement Day for the 4-H project "Cotton Accessories for the Bedroom" was held at Zurich Community Centre, Saturday for Grand Bend, Dashwood, Seaforth and Zurich Clubs with Miss Sharon Carroll, Huron home economist, presiding. Miss Katharine Taylor of Grand Bend won provincial honors and was presented with her cer- tificate and pin by Mrs. Delbert Geiger. Zurich. County honor pins and certifi- cates were presented to Jean and Karen Jennison. Grand Bend, Mary Sills, Seaforth; Gertie Veenstra, RR 4 Clinton. Dianne Becker RR 1 Dashwood: Gail Fleet and Sharon Marlene, Dash- wood and Cathy McKinley. RR 1 Zurich. Presentation of five year lead- ership awards was made to Mrs. Robert McKinley, RR 1 Zurich; Mrs. John Broadfoot, Brucefield, and Mrs, Morris Webb. RR 2 Zurich. The afternoon's program also included exhibits and demonstra- tions on bedroom accessories.
