of their thirtieth wedding anni-
versary at the home of their
eldest son, Carman Keyes and

smorgasbord dinner was served.
The event was a complete sur-
prise to the honored guests.

branch's adopted orphan was

It was decided that the mem-

orate the church for the Harvest
Thanksgiving service next Sun-

Miss Gertrude Beaver, Detroit
Mrs. William Elsie, 81, of
Grand Bend, the former Lucinda
Geiger, died in South Huron Hos-
pital, Sunday, October 1. Her
husband predeceased her, also
one son Percy in 1956.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Gladys Broderick, Grand
Bend, also four grandchildren and
six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. G. E. Morrow at
the T. Harry Hoffman funeral
home, Dashwood. on Wednesday,
October 4 with interment in Grand
Bend cemetery.

Thirteen members answered
the roll call by naming a Prov-
ince, its emblem or shield. Mrs.
Robert Laing led a quiz on the
provincial emblems.
Mrs. Sam McCurdy gave a
paper on the Bible Society and
Mrs. Harold Parsons conducted
a contest.

curred in an accident near Seb-

Mrs. F. Brown
dies in London
Mrs. Frank M. Brown 76,
mother of Mrs. Albert Thomp-
son, Lucan, passed away Satur-
day, Sept. 23 in the Brentwood
Manor, London.
The body rested in the Sifton
Funeral Home, St. Thomas until
10:30 am Tues. September 26,
when the Rev. J. L. Betrie of
the Central United Church, St.
Thomas, conducted funeral ser-
vices. Interment was in the Elm-
dale Memorial Park Cemetery,
St. Thomas.
She is survived by two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Albert (K a t hl e en)
Thompson of Lucan and Mrs.
John (Barbara) Blaser of Mount
Prospect, Ill., and three grand-
children, also one brother, Mr.
Roy Reid, of Niagara Falls.
Mrs. Brown's husband prede-
ceased her eight years ago.
Just three weeks prior to her
sudden death, Mrs. Brown at-
tended her granddaughter, Mrs.
Wilson's wedding, in the Lucan
United Church and seemed so
well, that her death came as a
great shock.
