Owing to. Harvest Home Ser-
Vices at St. James Church, there
was no 11 o'clock service in
Lucan but there was Sunda y
School and Family Communion.
The latter is one of the nicest
services of the year, when par-
ents take their children to the
altar rail for a blessing.
Sunday two parents each took
their five children to the front,
another took four and others
took their family.
Next Sunday at 9;30 am Bishop
Luxton will be in charge of a
communion, after which refresh-
ments will be served to the bishop
and all communicants, before go-
ing to St. James church for Con-
firmation Service at 11:30 am,
Those being confirmed from Holy
Trinity Church include, Mrs.
Eric Hodgins, Jacqueline Hod-
gins, Julie Hardy, Julie Hender-
son, Frances Elson, Brenda Her-
bert, Allan Kraul, Harry Dick-
son and Margaret O'Neil.
UNITED
Sunday was Achievement Sun-
day (formerly Rally Day) which
was in charge of Superintendent
Cliff Culbert, with Bill Coch-
rane leading in the Responsive
Psalm and Betty Park reading
the Lesson.
Sunday school continued
through the summer with an aver-
age of 50.
Five children received first
year perfect attendance pins, nine
had a wreath added to their pin
and six had a bar added for sec-
ond and third year perfect attend-
ance. The following Robert Raik-
es Diplomas (or stars added to
diplomas) were given out for
Beginners Class starts Oct. 2 at 8:30, Registration
will still be open Oct. 9 & Oct. 16. $1.00 per couple.

London, at 5 pm Saturday, Sep-
tember 2, for the marriage of
Suzanne Louise Taylor and Rus-
sell Short, with the Rev. A. J.
Ostle officiating,
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James H. Taylor,
75 High St., London (and grand-
daughter of Mrs. Eva Henson of
Lucan) and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Short of
Brampton.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride chose a floor-
length gown of white peau de
sole, highlighted with applique
of imported lace. A white floral
and sequin headpiece held her
shoulder-length net veil. She car-
ried a cascade of red sweetheart
roses and white baby mums.
Her cousin, Miss Sharon Tay-
lor, of Guelph as maid of honor,
was her only attendant. She was
clad in a floor-length gown of
daffodil yellow silk, with chif-
fon over-dress and floral head
band. She carried a cascade of
white shasta daisies.
Ivan Graham of Brampton was
best man and Robert Breadner
was usher.
