One of the leading exhibitors
of flowers at the Exeter Fall
Fair in the last couple of years
is ready for another try at the
prize list.
Mrs. Roy Pepper of Huron
Street, Exeter, who has a large
variety of flowers in her spacious
garden says she is keeping her
fingers crossed that the weather
will warm up again until after the
local fair.
"Growing flowers is a very
unpredictable venture and the
frost on Monday night came pretty
close to doing damage to my
flowers", added Mrs. Pepper.
The local horticulturist will be
showing zinnias, snapdragons,
dahlias and asters at next week's
fair along with floral table set-
tings.
Mrs. Pepper will also be a
competitor with vegetables and
home baking. She is a member
of the Kirkton Horticultural Soc-
iety and exhibited some of her
flowers at a show at Russeldale
a few weeks ago.
