lied for a pair of markers in
their last trip to the plate.
Patti Robinson walked and Joan
Campbell singled to start a prom-
ising rally and both girls rode
home on another single, this time
from the bat of Brenda Dinney.
The first Exeter tally came In
the second inning when Fern Dou-
gall singled, moved up on an in-
field error and romped across on
a similar one base blow deliver-
ed by Connie Kernick.
Dinney and Kernick each sing-
led twice to lead the Exeter hit-
ting attack while other bingles
were delivered by Anne Lewis
and Sheila Willert.
Losing is becoming a. habit with
the Exeter Greys as they ran
their string of games in which
they have failed to win this seas-
on to an even 10.
The local gals were on the
wrong end of an 8-1 score in
Brucefield Wednesday and suf-
fered a similar fate in Goderich,
Friday by 11-3.
The last home game on the
regular schedule for the Greys
was postponed Tuesday night as
St. Marys could not make the
trip.
A rained out game has been
rescheduled for the local dia-
mond Tuesday night with Bruce-
field supplying the opposition for
the Greys.

ed their only run in the 8-1 loss
to Brucefield.
Anne Lewis doubled as leadoff
hitter in the seventh and com-
pleted the base cycle on Jane
Broderick's single, Other suc-
cessful Grey hitters were Carla
Revington with two one base bash-
es and a single blow delivered
by Joan Campbell.
Betty Graham, Brucefteld's
veteran right hander, went the
distance for the first time this
season and kept the Greys' bats
well in check. Patti Robinson toil-
ed the seven inning route for the
Exeter club and was in trouble
early in the game, giving up four
runs in the first inning. She set-
tled down in the second and re-
tired the side without a run after
allowing the first three runners
to reach the base paths.
Sandra Graham and Joyce Kir-
lew led the Brucefield batting on-
slaught with three hits apiece,
while Diane Carter and Betty Dal-
rymple each contributed two safe-
ties to the winning cause.

BIG SPLURGE
A five run splurge in the bot-
tom of the third powered the
Legion to their 8-4 win over
Teen Town, Thursday.
A bases empty homer by Jerry
Finnen and a similar circuit
clout with the bases jammed from
the bat of Ron Bogart put the
Legion boys in front 6-0 after
Murray Brintnell had scored
after singling in the previous
inning.
A couple of walks and a Teen
Town error allowed the Vets to
score twice in the fourth to com-
plete their night's tallying.
After being blanked in their
first three trips to the plate, the
69'ers scored twice in each of the
fourth and fifth frames with a
homer providing the power in
each case.
Bill Farquhar led off the fourth
with a home run and Scott Burton
following with a single also came
around to count.
In the fifth, pitcher Dave Wood
drew a walk and came scamper-
ing around on Jack Glover's bases
clearing smash.
Don Mousseau in taking home
the Legion pitching win was flaw-
less outside of the two innings
when the Teeners scored their
runs. They were the only frames
the losers could get a runner
aboard.
