School Section 13 Blanshard
(Woodham) held a reunion of
former pupils and teachers Sat-
urday, July 15. Over 325 people
gathered to visit with old friends
and reminisce, Visitors came
from various parts of Canada and
United States with a large number
from Michigan.
The visitors from the greatest
distance were believed to be Miss
Mary Wynn Colgan of California,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Jim Col-
gan of Michigan and Dr. and Mrs.
Grant Mills and family of Calgary.
Mr. Norris Webb acted as
chairman for the program when
former pupils of SS 13 enter-
tained. Danny Blommaert, Kirk-
ton, accordion solo, Mrs. Betty
(Mills) Levy, St. Marys and Dr.
Grant Mills, Calgary, piano duet.
John Wanless and Mrs. Eliza-
beth (Wanless) Taylor, Grand
Valley, vocal duet and John also
favored with a piano solo. Mrs.
Kenneth Langford gave the hist-
ory of the school, being able to
tell some interesting stories as
she was a former teacher. Mr.
Fred Doupe read portions of let-
ters received from teachers and
pupils unable to attend. To name
a few, Mrs. J. H. Smith of Prest-
on, a former pupil and teacher.

Recognition was made to the
pupil travelling the farthest dist-
ance to attend the reunion, Dr.

pupil, Mrs. Mae Johns, Toronto;
youngest pupil, Sharon Janssen,
Woodham; teacher, who taught
the greatest number of years
ago, Mr. Armour Haines, Lon-
don.
Seven of Woodham's former
teachers attended the reunion,

Supper was served to all pres-
ent, but a light shower of rain
sent some of the crowd into the
shelter of the school. Mr. Roy
Goulding of London on the piano
and Mr, Otis Sawyer, vlount
Pleasant, favoured with some
lively music after supper. A day
of reminiscing and visiting came
to a close much too early for
most present,
