As one-of their centennial projects, the R. E. Pooley Branch Legion
bestowed life memberships on all veterans of World War I who have
been members of the Legion for 10 years or more. Some veterans
of the same battles had been granted life memberships previously

The June meeting of Clande-
boye WI was held with Mrs. Ru-
pert William hostess and 10 mem-

presided and read the Scripture.
A letter was read from Ada
Zerfatti, Italy, thanking for con-
tribution to her keep, from Lucan
and Riverview Institutes as well.
Mrs. Rea Neil gave the morn-
ing report of the District Annual
held at Kee-Mo-Kee. Mrs. Arnold
Lewis gave the afternoon report.
Mrs. Norman Hardy gave report
of Guelph Convention at the open-
ing day.

daughter Lynda, spent three days
at Expo. While in Montreal they
visited Mr. & Mrs, Hugh Pratley,
a sister of Mr. Hill.
Mr. & Mrs. Alex Macintosh
spent three days at Expo and
Montreal. They went by train.
Mr. & Mrs. John Ovens re-
turned home Friday night after
spending three days at Expo.
Mrs. Art Hodgins and her sist-
er, Mrs. Russell Brock of Chisel-
burst visited last week with Mr.
& Mrs. Don Brock of Ottawa and
Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Brock of Mont-
real. While in Montreal, they
spent two days at Expo.
PATON REUNION
The Paton Reunion was held at
the Legion Hall, Sunday, June 25
at Grand Bend with 84 attending.
The president, Mr. EarlSullivan,
London, presided for the business
and secretary was Mrs. Donald
Paton.
Oldest of the clan was Earl
Paton; coming the farthest, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Soeder and Bob-
by, Cleveland, Ohio. Next, Mr.
and Mrs. Leonard Carley and son
Bruce Carley, Bellevue, Ohio and
also Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Paton of
Barrie; youngest person, their
son Paul Paton; oldest couple,
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Paton; guess-
ing the mystery couple, Mr. and
Mrs. Glenn Desjardine, won by
Mr. and Mrs. Seeder.
New president is George Glen-
denning, Parkhill; vice president
is Jim Paton, Mossley; secretary,
Mrs. Donald Paton, Mt. Elgin.
Members attended from Mt.
Elgin, Mt. Brydges, Woodstock,
Harrletsville, St. Marys, Kirkton
Glanworth, London, Lucan and
Parkhill.
ATTEND ANNIVERSARY
Mr. Victor Hodgins and Mr.
and Mrs. Art Hodgins attended a
surprise party, Saturday evening,
in honour of the 25th wedding an-
niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Ainslie of St. Marys (former Jean
Hodgins RN of Clandeboye). The
party was given at the Ainslie
home by their children, Mary
and David.
PERSONALS
Mrs. Alvin Cunningham is at
her own home now. She suffered
a fall at her steps over a week
ago. The doctor was called and
had her taken to St. Joseph's
Hospital by Haskett's Ambulance,
for an X-ray. It was found no
bones were broken. She was taken
to her son's, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur
Cunningham and where she im-
proved quickly.
Friday, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Paton
of London and their guests, Mr.
& Mrs. Robert Soeder and son
Bobby of Cleveland visited Mrs.
J. H. Paton.
Mr. and Mrs. Gladwyn Hooper,
Veryl and Jeanette were Sunday
evening guests of Mrs. J. W.
Humphrey and Miss Josie Medd
of Strathroy.
