Douglas Warren officiating. Mrs. Marilyn Dykeman, RR 1 Crediton furnished the wedding music. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a full length gown of white peau de sole. Two panels of Alencon lace ac- cented the full skirt and bodice styled with scoop neckline and lily point sleeves. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and shasta daisies. Miss Lorrie Becker, RR 3 Dashwood, was maid of honor wearing a rose petal pink full- length gown fashioned with scoop neckline, tiny sleeves and bell- shaped skirt. Bridesmaids were sisters of the bride, Miss Elaine Whitney, Exeter, Miss Heather Whitney, RR 2 Crediton. They were gowned similarly to the maid of honor. Given in marriage by her father the bride chose for her wedding a floor-length gown of bonded crepe in A-line empire style with long bell sleeves. Lace florets on the sleeves were repeated on the shoes. The train had a long overlying bow of Galloon lace. From her headdress of white sweetheart roses fell a waist- length illusion veil trimmed with lace. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses and white stephanotis. Maid of honor, Miss Margaret Salmon, Dashwood, wore an A- line empire style gown with long bell sleeves and sash with bow at the back in fabric of the brides- maids' dresses. Bridesmaids, Misses Susan Allan, Belleville, Miss Margaret Merner, Dash- wood and Miss Judith Ann Price, Prescott, were gowned in multi- colored georgette underlined with white taffeta. F lo we r girl, Eleanor Salmon, was gowned similarly to the other attendants. All carried bouquets of pink sweetheart roses with baby's breath. Charles Bartliff, Ottawa, was best man and ushers were erald Martene, Dashwood, Michael Denomme, Kitchener and Charles Tiernan, London. The reception was held at Dashwood Community Centre where the bride's mother re- ceived guests wearing pink rib- boned brocade with broad- brimmed white chiffon hat with white accessories. The groom's mother assisted wearing a blue petaled hat complimenting the blue lace bodice and crepe skirt of the dress. The Ladies Aid of the church served the wedding dinner and neighbors of the bride served the midnight lunch. For travelling in Northern Ontario the bride donned an en- semble of imported Swiss voile in forget-me-not blue with white and beige accessories. The couple will reside in Dash- wood. The bride plans to con- tinue 4th year honor studies in Fine Arts at the University of Toronto. Exeter, and Lloyd Dale Turvey, Toronto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Turvey, Exeter, were married in James Street United Church in a setting of pink gla- dioli, ferns and candelabra on Saturday, June 24 at 4:30 pm. Rev, S. E. Lewis performed the ceremony and organist Robert Cameron furnished the wedding music and accompanied the soloist, Miss Linda Wolper, London. Given in marriage by her fath- er the bride wore a cage-like dress of silk organza over fitted peau de sole featuring a jewel neck and long sleeves. Appliques of Guipure lace studded the dress and train which fell from the shoulders. The skirt, sleeves and train were widely bordered with peau de sole. A long French 11,- lusioa veil fell from a wedding band headpiece and she carried a white orchid with stephanotis and myrtle leaves. Maid of honor was Miss Xandra Busehe, Toronto, wearing a cage dress of pink silk organza over fitted peau de sole with full- length floating panel attached at the neckline with self-bows. She carried a nosegay of pink roses and baby's breath. Bridesmaids, Mrs. Robert Becker, sister of the groom, London, and Miss Joan Francis, Kitchener, and junior bridesmaid, Miss Lynne Farqu- har, sister of the bride, were gowned similarly to the maid of honor and they carried nosegays of two shades of pink roses and baby's breath. Barry Tucker, Toronto, was best man and Larry Nielson, Toronto, and Bill Farquhar, brother of the bride, ushered guests. A reception followed by a dance was held at Exeter Legion Hall where the bride's mother re- ceived guests in a pink coat and dress ensemble with guipure lace sleeves, matching hat and white gardenia and stephanotis corsage. The groom's mother chose a tur- quoise coat and dress ensemble with corsage of gardenias and stephanotis. For travelling in Northern On- tario the bride chose a pink bro- cade coat and dress ensemble, matching hat, black accessories and white orchid corsage. Mr. Heber Davis and his wife, after which the celebrants both expressed their thanks and appreciation. The evening was brought to a close by all joining in singing “May The Good Lord Bless and Keep Thee" and a smorgasbord lunch was served. EDWARD ROSS PRESZCATOR Rev, and Mrs. Mervin Elston of RR 1 Centralia who were married forty-five years ago in St. Patrick's Anglican Church, Saintsbury, by the Rev. C. 0. Pherrill, were honored Wednes- day evening, June 21 when their son Allan, and daughter-in-law, Catherine, entertained thirty- five guests to a dinner held in the Anglican Parish hall, Saints- bury. Serving were their grand- daughters, Sheila and Wendy Elston, great nieces, Joan Barker and Heather Davis, and two neigh- bors, Judy and Geraldine Blair. During the dinner hour, Rev. N. D. Knox of Glanworth and Rev. H. Seegrniller, Exeter, extended greetings and best wishes. Later the family were joined by relatives and friends numbering 75 with Jean Barker in charge of the register. Mrs. Fred Penwarden of S arnia rendered the same solo, "In The Garden of My Heart", as she did at their wedding 45 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Al Clyne and family visited for two weeks with Mrs. Clyne's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beaver before leaving for Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh MeEwen and family, Mt. Brydges, visit- ed Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Wes Witmer, Mrs. McEwen re- mained for a few holidays. Mrs. Norman Ford of Detroit visited her sister, Mrs. Frank Taylor, over the weekend.
