The highlight of the evening was the presentation of most valuable player awards to a mem- ber of each of the four minor puck teams, The individual awards were Presented by the guest speaker for the evening, Bit martin of the Chicago Black Hawks, and went to novice Randy English, pee wee Bradley England, bantam Jim Hearn and midget Andy Hardy, Receiving a plaque as the best goalie in the complete hockey set up was Jef f Culbert who guarded the twines for the novice and pee wee clubs. Stan Stakes of London, presi- dent of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, presented divisional crests to the novice and midget teams, It was a very successful season for the youthful bockeyiste from the Irish town, The novice and bantam teams won their respec- tive Shamrock league champ- ionships, The pee wee club were runners-up at the young Canada tournament in ooderich and won the Legion zone title in a playoff with teams from Ailsa Craig and Glencoe. In addition to winning a Sham- rock title, the bantams were vic- torious in the "D" category of the annual Luca.n bantam tourney. pat Crudge was hockey chair- man throughout the year and Bill Smith, long associated with hock- ey in Lucan, was master of cere- monies at the banquet. Hugh Fleming, pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Aylmer, is celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of his ordination this week. His moth- er, Mrs. Pat Fleming and her family attended his special cele- bration. Two of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel students suffered painful accid- ents during the past week while playing baseball. Boys were Matthew Muller and Gerard O'- Rourke. Mr. & Mrs. Don Mahoney and daughter, of Gait visited last weekend with Mr. & Mrs. John Mahoney. Mrs. Catherine M or rissey spent Sunday in Stratford with Msg. W. T. Corcoran and Miss Geraldine Harness. Mr. & Mrs. Bob Gibbons, Lon- don, visited on the weekend with the latter's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hubert Deslardine and C a r 01 Anne. Mr. Dave Morriseey is a pa- tient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Misses Donelda Voisin and Jo- anne Dietrich, London were guests at their homes over the weekend. Messrs Ricky Trainor and Paul Dietrich, London, spent the week- end with their parents. Rev. Basil Sullivan CSB of Edmonton arrived by plane to visit Mr, & Mrs. Charles Glavin and Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Sullivan Sr. and friends. Rev. John Glavin of Texas, returned to his parish last week after spending the past ten days with his sisters Madeleine and Clare Glavin. Mr. & Mrs. Alphonse Hart- man and family, motored to De- troit, Friday and attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Nora Hartman. Most valuable novice Friday was a big day for participants in Lucan's minor hockey pro- gram. FRED 130WDEN CENTRALIA Mr. & Mrs, Harold Tripp were in Toronto over the weekend where they visited with his sist- er, Mrs. Eltha Adams, and at the home of a niece, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Shipman and family in Isling- ton. They had the pleasure of seeing the changing of the colors of the Governor-General's Horse Guards et the City Hall. Mrs. Lorne Hicks was a Sat- urday visitor with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr, & Mrs. Bert Walden in Kincardine. Dr. & Mrs. Imre Toth and Kimberley left on Sunday for a brief visit with relatives in De- troit and Ohio on their way to Boston where they will take up residence. A large number from Cen- tralia attended the presentation for the Rev. & Mrs. D. M, Grest in the Whalen church last Wed- nesday evening and the anniver- sary service on Sunday that marked the closing of the church. Rev. Guest conducted the service. Rev. E. Roulston of Exeter will conduct the services in the United Church during the month of June. Mrs. Theresa Maloney, Mr. & Mrs. Reg Aubin and boys of Seaforth spent Sunday with Mr. & Mes. V.
