Ivor Bodenham, Miss Finkbeiner and Cori Plomp. --T-A photo PERSONALS Funeral services, twice post- poned because of violent storms in this district, were held for Mrs. Ervin Fahrner on Wednes- day, March 1. The service at the church was conducted by Rev. Fred Faist, Mrs. Fahrner's past- or at Kitchener and Rev. Howard Zurbrigg. Relatives were pre- sent from Dashwood and Zurich. Rev, & Mrs. Karl Tauber of Fort Wayne, Indiana, were guests last week at the home of Rev. & Mrs. Howard Zurbrigg. The visitors from Indiana were amaz- ed at the piles of snow. Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Gaiser were in Detroit Saturday to attend the funeral of Mr. Paul Cochrane, husband of Mrs. Gaiser's niece. A number from the district at- tended the Farm Show in London last week. They were impressed by the display of farm machinery. Mrs. Ruby Molitor spent the past week with friends in Tor- onto. Mr. Howard Beaver, Hamilton, was a weekend visitor at the home of his father, Mr. Harry Beaver. son Carl Finkbeiner, and his daughter Mrs. Katherine Phelps of Naperville, Illinois, The United Church Women met Wednesday afternoon in the church basement with Mrs. Jack Duncan and Mrs. Lee Webber as hostesses. Mrs. Donald Bray, program C convener, was in charge of the meeting and was assisted by Mrs. William Elford and Mrs. Robert Cann with the worship service. Mrs. Donald Kernick conduct- ed Bible study. Mrs. Bev Alex- ander favoured with a piano solo. The gifts were a film strip projector, and violet paraments for communion table, pulpit and reading desk. The donation had been made by Dr. Finkbelner's Resort club keeps busy By MRS. It was decided to accept Elim- ville's invitation to meet with them on April 7 when Miss Aud- rey Finkbeiner will be the guest speaker. It was decided to have a bake- less bake sale in March. PERSONALS Chicken Pox are on the rounds in the community. Mrs. Stewart Miner attended the UCW London Conference Branch meeting at Woodstock part of last week, & Mrs. Edwin Miller were Friday guests with Mr. & Mrs. Thos. Dickenson of Wesley. About forty members of the Messengers held a skating party at Kirkton Saturday afternoon, then returned to the church for their meeting and lunch. Miss Ethel Miner of Stratford spent the weekend at her home with her parents Rev. & Mrs. Stewart Miner. Shipka folk enjoy cards SBIPKA Shipka euchre party was held' recently with 16 tables in play. Winners for ladies' high were Mrs. Lorne Dietrich; ladies' low, Mrs. Bob Adams; men's high, John Dietrich; men's low, Garry Baker; most lone hands, Mrs. George Clarke. Another euchre and solo party is planned for March 15, with the north group in charge.
