at St. Paul's Anglican Church
Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
The flags were placed in the
sanctuary of the church follow-
ing the singing of the first hymn
and returned at the conclusion of
the service. Masters Robbie
Amos and David Paynter formed
the guard of honor for Billie Alt-
hill flag bearer for the cubs.
David Strahan as flag bearer for
the Scouts had as guard of honor
Bobbie Marshall and Graham
Robinson. The lessons were read
by Brian Amos and Billie Den-
ham.
Following Rev. Bell's address,
renewal of promises were re-
peated by Scouts, C ubs, and
Brownies. Robert and Brent
Blackler took up the offering
during which time Mr. Ken Wack-
ier rendered a solo.

Taylor's judged best. Mrs. Car-
ter Kerslake conducted a quiz on

a school song in her native tongue
which was enjoyed by all.
Miss Olive Speare gave an in-
teresting paper on the ilibbert
brothers, telling how ilibbert
Township got its name. Roll Call
was answered by a racial prob-
lem of today.
Mrs. Carter Kerslake pre-
sided for the business, A letter
of thanks for gifts received was
read by Mrs. Worden from the
Institute's adopted child in Hong
Kong. A motion was approved to
send a donation to "Bunny
Bundle". Members were remind-
ed of the District annual to be
held in Mitchell in May with
everyone to go dressed in Cen-
tennial dress or pay a fine.
Mrs. Tom Laing and Miss
Olive Speare were a committee
named to obtain a man's cos-
tume for the area convention.
Mrs. Ed Chappel and Mrs.
Charles Douglas were a com-
mittee named to set up a dis-

held at her home Wednesday
afternoon, Feb. 22 with 20 mem-
bers and 10 visitors present.
Dessert and coffee opened the

and commented on the Motto -
"What part does the Women's
Institute play in Public rela-
tions"?
Mrs. Mac Hodgert was guest
speaker and took everyone on a
most informative and interest-
ing trip through Spain, Morocco,
E gyp t, Lebanon, Turkey and
Greece. She always displayed
many lovely souvenirs from these
countries. Mrs. Hodgert was in-
troduced by Mrs. Lloyd Miller
and appreciation was expressed
by Mrs. Carter Kerslake. In

Kirkton No, 2 held their first
meeting of their spring 4-H pro-
ject at the home of Mrs. Ken
Blackler, the project being
"Sleeping Garments".
Officers elected were: Presi-
dent, Barbara Switzer; vice-
president, Norma Switzer; sec-
retary and press reporter,
Darlene Denham; assistant,
Heather Urquhart; cover design-
ers, Brenda Denham and Anne
Urquhart.
A discussion followed on how
a good 4-11 record book should be
made, also requirements of 4-H
members,
Mrs. Raymond Heard told how
to choose and buy good quality
material and Mrs. Ken Blackler
showed different samples of mat-
erial suitable for sleep wear.
WI EUCHRE
The Women's Institute spon-
sored a progressive euchre in
Aberdeen Hall Monday evening.
Prize winners were: ladies
high, Mrs. Russell Morrison;
lone hands, Ronald Denham;

games.
She's another member of the
cheerleading contingent atSHDHS
and has served as social editor
for the paper staff. Louise also
plays the piano.
The final candidate was Ruth
Hodge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Hodge, Crediton. Grade
12E was cheering her.
She's 17 and has served as a
cheerleader and on the paper
staff, as well as playing intra-
mural volleyball and basketball.
Ruth is active in church work,
teaching sunday school, singing
in the choir and participating in
young peoples' work. She also
belongs to a 4-H club.
She lists sewing, cooking and
playing the piano among her in-
terests.

More and more people in the
area appear to be making plans
to attend Expo 67.
The Rev. John Boyne reported
this week that teenagers from
his three charges were planning
a trip for the first week in July.
The Presbyterian cleric has
been offered sleeping accom-
modation in the Christian Edu-
cation building of one of the
churches in Montreal and the
total cost to his travellers has
been estimated at $30, This does
not include meals.
The group will spend three full
days at Expo. They leave on Mon-
day, July 3 and return Friday.
Rev. Boyne reported that there
are still a few openings on the
trip for other area teenagers.
Age range is from 14 to 18 years.
Rev, and Mrs. Boyne and an-
other couple will act as chaperons
and any teenagers interested in
joining the group should contact
Rev. Boyne.

Thursday to spend a couple of
weeks at the home of her son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Keith Hodgins and family,

Skinner and Robert Blair attend-
ed the meeting of Centralia-
Whalen Men's club in the Whalen
Church Friday night. Mr. Grant
Young, professor of geology at
UWO, was guest speaker. He
showed colored slides to illus-
trate his address.
Mr% and Mrs. Earl Dixon re-
turned home Sunday following
a five-week vacation to the Un-
ited States. They visited in San
Antonio, Texas, in Santiago and
other points of interest in Cal-
ifornia.
