The superintendent, Gordon Morley, was assisted by the secretary, Neil Trevithick in the presenta- tion of seals to eighteen scholars and first year certificates to two, Jean Fenton and Karen Hodgson having achieved 35Sundays pres- ent during the year. Neil Trevithick has attained a seal for 14 consecutive years. Those who received eighth year seals were Kathy Lewis, Linda Morley and Elaine Morley; seventh year, Carolyn Lewis, Linda Robinson and Carol Robin- son; sixth year, Judy Robinson; fifth year, Mary Robinson, Jim Robinson, Darlene Watson, Brenda Lee and Linda Fenton; fourth year, Gayle Fenton and Bill Watson; second year, Karl Robinson and Jackie Lewis. ERVIN RADER DASUWOOD Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kraft greeted their friends and rel- atives at the home of their daugh- ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Rader Tuesday, Feb. 14. prior to this a family dinner was held Sunday Feb. 12 at the Dash- wood hotel. Edmund Kraft and Eleanora Willert were united in marriage with Rev. P. Graupner, minister at Zion Lutheran Church, of- ficiating, at the bride's home, 14th concession of Hay. Attend- ants were Mrs. Dora Stadel- bauer of London and Otto Willert of Dashwood. They operated the present Merner butcher shop for six years then moved to the farm 14th concession of Hay where they resided until 1956 when they moved to Dashwood. They have two children, Harold of London, Dorothy (Mrs. Elgin Rader) Dashwood, eight grand- children and three great grand- children. They were recipients of many cards of congratulations, flowers and gifts. A highlight of the day was a call from their grandson, Arthur Rader, a seminary stu- dent at Concordia Seminary. 4-H CENTENNIAL PROJECT First meeting Club No. 1 was held Feb. 11. at the Community Centre. Mrs. Gordon Bender and Dara Goodale are the leaders. Officers are; president, Theresa Hartman; vice-president, Elaine Masse; secretary, Sharon Mar- tens. Notes were given on Early Canada and health improvement during the last century. Two dishes, Blueberry Buckle and Succotash were made. The second meeting was held Feb. 18 at theCommunityCentre. Roll call was a Canadian food used by early settlers. Notes were given on food diet for health 1867 and "Our Heritage from New France". Two recipes were used Tourtiere and Grand Peres. 4-H girls No. 2 held their first meeting Tuesday. Feb. 14. The leaders are Mrs, Eben Wei- gard and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe. Mrs. Weigand demonstrated how to make Blueberry Buckle which was very tasty. Officers are: president, Margaret Merner; vice-president, Joanne Hayter; secretary, Marjory Schenk. Notes were taken on "Working Methods Early Canada" and ",How did the first Indians live'?" At the second meeting, Feb. 20, the girls decided to call themselves "Granny's Gals". Plans were made for Miss Sharon Carroll's visit. The girls made Tourtiere and Grand Peres. The girls tasted venison and squirrel. Notes were given on "The food guide for health, Veg- etables, Bread and Cereals, Meat and Fish and Our Heritage" from New France. Substantial balances were shown by the reports of the dif- ferent organizations. New trustees elected were Mr. Les Morley, Mr. Kelly Robinson and Mr. Doug Lewis. Also elect- ed to Mars Bill Cemetery board were Mr. Gordon Morley and Mr. Doug Lewis. Mrs. Jack Hodgson n e wl y elected president for the UCW acted as secretary for the meet- ing. Rummage sale successful A large crowd turned out to the rummage sale held at the Stephen Township hall in Crediton, Saturday sponsored by the hall board and the Crediton Women's Institute.
