Well we really had a busy day
here Sat., Feb. 4 with the 12-
game bantam shamrock centen-
nial hockey tournament on. It
was a very blustery day but the
whole twelve participating teams
arrived on time and every game
was played on schedule. I got
this from the horse's mouth,
quote, it was said that we had a
very smoothly operated tourna-
m ent.
Exeter won the (13) Trophy and
the C. Ilaskett & Son Trophy.,
Saltfleet won the consolation
trophy donated by the Lucan Pee-
reation committee, Lambeth (A)
won the (C) group, the Radcliffe
Drug trophy.
The consolation trophy donated
by Hearns Dairy was won by
Mitchell by shots on goal, in (D)
competition. It was Lucan winning
the Langford Lumber trophy as
group champs with Ailsa Craig
taking the Don Smith trophy as
consolation winners.
The H. B, Langford trophy
donated by none other than Mr.
Hockey for the team for best
sportsmanship off and on the
ice was won by the boys from
Mitchell, the best goalie was Bill
Bedell of Dresden and the best
player award went to Dennis
Carty of Lucan as picked by the
referees and a panel of three
judges.
I would like to take this op-
portunity to thank all the people
who helped make this tournament
the success that it was, espec-
ially the boys who gave their time
to referee, and all the little help-
ers I had scraping ice and sweep-
ing up around the place. I never
had it so nice.

IN MEMORIAM
EAGI,ESON1960. —In loving memory
of a dear husband and father,
Paul Ivan Eagleson who passed
away one year ago February 9,
Please God forgive a silent tear
A silent wish that Dad were here,
There are others who have lost,
yes we know
But he was ours and we loved him
so,
One year ago we had to part,
The one we loved with all of our
heart.
The wound is deep it will not heal
Only those who have lost, know
how we feel,
A beautiful soul in the garden of
rest,
The saying is true, "God chooses
the best".
