Arrangements have been com-
pleted for the first round of Sham-
rock minor hockey play-offs in-
volving the Exeter clubs,
The local pee wees, bantams
and midgets will be meeting Lam-
beth in a home and home series
with goals to count on the round.
The first games, comprising a
tripleheader, will be played at the
Exeter arena February 8 with the
return contests at the Gardens in
London, the morning of Feb. 11.
Completing regular scheduled
play, the local minor clubs rang
up four victories and gained a tie
in five starts over the past week.
With Huron park supplying the
opposition at the arena, Wednes-
day, the pee wee game ended in a
2-2 draw while the Exeter
bantams were victorious 3-2.
The Exeter clubs travelled to
Ilderton, Tuesday night and swept
three games in convincing fash-
ion. The pee wees ran up a 9-1
count, the bantams were on the
right end of a 6-3 count and the
midgets triumphed 13-0.
A trio of pee wee performers
fired a pair of goals each to lead
the way to the latest victory in
Ilderton. Randy Gilfillan, Scott
Litt and Perry stover scored
the doubles while Wayne Brint-
nell, Steve Harrison and Paul
Robinson chipped in with single
scores.
In the bantam contest, the
Exeter boys fell behind in the
early minutes as Ilderton counted

Larry Ilaugh contributed three
markers to the Exeter winning
cause with John Braid, Steve

John Loader led the midget
onslaught with four goals. Ron
Moore and Mike iloy added a
hat trick each, while Casey Plumb

HANG ON
In the pee wee game against
Huron Park, the Exeter boys
scored twice in the first period
and then held on for a 2-2 tie
as the visitors scored once in
each of the second and third
frames.
Randy Gilfillan and Wayne
Brintnell triggered the success-
ful shots for the Exeter team,
while Terry Casburn and Mike
Boland replied for Huron Park.
The trend of the bantam con-
test pretty well followed that of
the pee wees in that Exeter scored
twice in the first and the visitors
bounced back to tie the count in
the second.
The only difference came in the
final period when Exeter manu-

MOP INSIDE FROSTED USED RINGERS
Last Friday night at 7 o'clock
one of the most enjoyable hockey
games for the players as well as
the spectators was played.
In this game the Pee Wee "All
Stars" almost defeated their
fathers and friends in a very
lively game of hockey. Friends
I must say because a few "ring--
ers or imports" were added to
the fathers team. One of these
so called ringers travelled all
the way from Picton to be on
hand for the game—a former
Exeter hockey fan, Rev. Bev
Lindsay. In the middle of the
third period the score was tied
at 5 all and with time running
out the fathers with a super team
effort managed to score four
goals to salt the game away with
the final score reading 9-5.More
gamed such as this should be
played.
