Three receive

Gloom, chagrin and dismay
prevailed at the TOPS' meeting
Thursday when three members
found, after resisting the holiday
temptations, they had this past
Week gained a total of 11 pounds
and would each have to take home
a little pink pig to decorate their
frig for the next week. However
the other five members had man-

All were most happy to welcome
in a new member.
Next Thursday, instead of the
regular meeting, the group plan
to visit one of the London TOPS
Clubs and see how they carryon.
All are looking forward to the

What fate
for hotel?
To be or not to be, is the fate
awaiting another of Lucan's old-
est landmarks, the Western Ho-
tel, when William St. is widened
in the spring. At present it faces
demolition, although there is a
proposal to have it moved to
F anshawe.
Unfortunately the height of the
two storey building would require
much hydro wire cutting. Wheth-
er it is worth taking down and
rebuilding is the question facing
the London and Middlesex His-
torical Society. Another proposal
is to keep the old landmark, in
Lucan and just move it to a
near-by site.
In an effort to preserve the
building, one interested anony-
mous party has already sent
$20 to the Free Press hoping
his donation might induce others
to follow suit.
