George Webber, President-elect of the Bible Christian Conference, Minister of the Church, and well-known for his eloquence as preacher and lecturer. THE CHOIR will sing appropriate pieces in their usual excellent style, and the congregation will be favoured by hearing the melodian recently acquired by the church to assist with the singing of the hymns. ALL IN THE VILLAGE of Exeter and surrounding community are invited to this service. The lighting of the church has been greatly improved by new double burners placed in the lamps. The service will begin with a period of hearty singing of the good old hymns from the Bible Christian hymn book. Young ladies of the congregation will serve light refreshments to all who care to partake in a friendly half hour at the conclusion of the service. Please get your tickets from the above as no tickets will be sold at the door. 11 The James St. ACTS Mens Club arranged this service at the direction of the Exeter Centennial Committee as part of Exeter's Centennial observances, and have recreated a service of worship as it was in Exeter a century ago. Members of the club will usher in costume, the choir and minister will dress as of 100 years ago. We invite those who Can to come in costume too. Sermon, hymns and music, and order of worship are all taken from records of the time. The raelOdian, lent for the occasion is 100 years old. The II. service will be both reverent worship and living local hiStory, The U.C,W. of the church have joined in this project by planning a supper, within the limits of practibility, of the kind the folk of this community enjoyed a century ago in the churches which then existed. LIBRARY NEWS The Masons have had the lib- rary redecorated and painted, new flooring and new fluorescent lighting installed and the County Library has supplied new drapes. The library will now be open 10 hours a week instead of seven and one-half hours, beginning this week. New schedule is Monday, Thursday and Friday '7-9 pm and Saturday 1-5 pm. In the absence of the president Mrs. Jack Gilmour, who is on the sick list, the vice president, Mrs. Jim Davis presided. It was de- cided to again make marmalade as a money-raising project. I hope that you all had a very good Christmas and New Year as I did. We are back to normal again here at the centre with our regular Sat. night dances once again in operation. We had a small crowd last Sat- urday night, I suppose this was because most people were still recuperating from New Years. In the south Middlesex hockey League Craig are still in first place followed by Concrete pipe, Ilderton, Lee & Stewart, Lucan, and Edgewood. Last Thursday night, January 5 it was Craig over Lucan 7-3; Ilderton took Lee and Stewart 10-0 and Edge- wood and concrete pipe battled to a 3 all tie with Edgewood getting the equalizer with 27 seconds showing on the clock. In minor hockey last Friday, January 6, it was Dorchester v/s Lucan; In pee wee it was Dorchester Pee Wee's 10, Lucan Squirts 2. P.S.
