And I can give some clothes to the poorer people, and a gift of a toy and boots and warm coat too. Christmas is the best thing I ever ran into. I like the day of Christmas It makes me very gay, To think that Christ our Savior Was born for us this day. I thank hint on this morning For everything He gave, His life, His heart and all His love To us, our lives to save. By Marilyn Whitney Grade 7 Stephen Central School Aic rya EY wad ?it Christmas can mean so many things, like gifts and fun. But we must not forget the little Baby born on this day. All over the world people cel- ebrate Christmas. Evergreen trees are brought into the house. Manger scenes are put under them. These are to help us re- member about the birth of Jesus. We are all happy when Santa Claus comes on Christmas Eve. He leaves presents under the Christmas tree while we are sleeping. When we open our pre- sents we think of Him, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. Mary rode for the way was long. Joseph walked, for he was strong. When they came to the town, No room was left but a barn. He found a place where Mary might rest, In a stable, which was the next best. And there the Baby Jesus was born, On that very first Christmas morn. In a manger where he lay, Mary cared for him and prayed. Shepherds were watching their flock that night When an angel appeared in a shining light "Fear not,” said the angel in a gentle tone, "I bring good tidings, not to you alone." "For God has sent his little son," "To be a Savior for everyone." They found the Babe, as the angel said Lying in a manger instead of a bed. pp Wisemen watching the stars that night Saw the star shining bright. This star has come to show us the way, Where our Baby King doth lay. The star stood still at Bethlehem, Over a stable far from them, There the Wise Men found their King, They knelt and gave him their offering. Of things that happened that Christmas morn When Jesus our loving Saviour was born. And that's why Christmas will always be The very "Best Day" for you and me. tt .5eutea Iva ?fed qeeizeitd SHELLEY WEBER, GRADE 5, STEPHEN CENTRAL Santa is a busy fellow, a As busy as can be, If you were with him at the North Pole, I'm sure you would agree. And his helpers in his workshop Are very busy too, For Christmas Eve will soon be here And there is much to do. With hammer, nails and paint and glue, And paper, steel and wood They can make the nicest toys, Anyone ever could. 74 eaaeof ad ektedemad Many people today think that Christmas is just a holiday when presents are given, but to me Christmas is something else. I feel Christmas is the day Christ our Savior was born; the time when Caesar Augustus sent out a decree that all the world must be counted, all must be taxed. Yes, that was the time when all relatives of David came to Beth- lehem. That was the time when Mary and Joseph made their trip from Galilee out of Nazareth into Judea to the city of David which is called Bethlehem. From the Bible we know; "And s he brought forth h e r firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:7 YES, this is the Christmas story and may it long be re- membered by everyone. I am very busy with the other elfs. We have to get all the toys ready for Christ- mas. If we don't have all the toys done we will be fired. It will be hard to get another job. Santa Claus won't give us any pre- sents. Oh dear I will work as hard as I can. by MaryAnn Desjardine Grade 3 Stephen Central School hrough the eyes of area students 7cuelifetteaf ?este Christmas is a fascinating time with Christmas and decorations. You see people walking t h e streets with a happy smile. To some it is a toy and gift time; to others it is a time when fa.m- les get together fora big Christ- mas dinner with turkey, cran- berry sauce and the like. yet to others it is a time when our Savior was born. "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swad- dling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:7 To me Christmas means toys too, but the secret is to give not to get. To some even bigchildren in countries like Africa, Viet Nam, Asia a toy is a treasure. So remember that Christmas means something different for everyone. Bruce Pfaff Grade 6 Stephen Central School MIDTOWN AUTO SALES & SERVICE 244 Main S. Exeter 235-1533 HODGSON LIMITED M.J.
