The making of wreaths and the singing of choirs make the season more cheerful. Of course Christmas would not be complete without the blanket of crystal, white snow falling from above our heads. Debra Hern To me Christmas means three different things. Of course every- one likes opening presents to see what gift they have received. The food is another thing — turkey, cranberries, dessert, ev- erything to go with it. The most important thing is that Christ was born. There he lay in the manger with Mary standing over Him. The night before Christmas they rush up to bed And pull the blankets over their heads, But falling asleep isn't easy they find, For excitment o'er flows in each little mind. But finally the long hours of waiting are past And it is time for opening presents at last They rip open the gifts and proudly display What being good had brought them this glad Christmas Day, Seutta'a Pt tied BY ELVA FINKBEINER, GRADE 8, STEPHEN CENTRAL SCHOOL I've never seen our Santa Claus descend the chimney tall, But he must have a problem for our chimney's very small. I wonder if he burns his feet, for we have no fireplace, The furnace is always burning, I wonder what is the case. And what would happen on Christmas Eve if Rudolph struck it ill, Would Santa keep on going, and pay the hydro bill? Just you think what would happen if his elves went on strike, Do you think that Santa Claus could make his annual nightly flight? If this is to be the case, this coming Christmas Eve night, I won't give him one more problem like a fierce dog bite. •=?Ml:Nd Wiz oNs tocq'OzNitl:?SitvNitr.triziXrcftliftVgrtIMVftzilitlgtti:V41 Spread cheer to area shut-ins The Exeter Kinsmen and Kinettes made their annual rounds to visit the community's sick and shut-in, Thursday, taking along parcels of treats. To me Christmas means something dif- ferent. To me it is the birthday of a King. Lorraine Ventin To me, Christmas means two different things. On the festive side it is the exchanging of gifts, a delicious dinner, gay wrapping paper and a jolly time. It also means donating to chari- ty, giving toys to organizations and food to needy families of the community. For me I like giving Christmas is not only a time of fun and merriment, but it is a time to think. Think about the past and the present, to consider our- selves lucky for the things Christ our Lord has made possible. Phyllis Taylor to needy families as it gives me the satisfaction of helping others. the three things Christmas re- minds me of. Geraldine Beckett Muriel Abbott To me Christmas is a time of celebrating the birth of Jesus. A time of giving and receiving gifts, and meeting relatives. It is a time of happiness and fun away from school. Mervyn Hern • - 07:77,;;_...-- O.,' • Christmas in our community is a special time, when friends and neighbors get together, and time spent with our families is precious.
