Mrs. Sharon nevus and Miss
Sandra Bolton were hostesses at
the home of Mrs. George pewys
for a surprise shower for Dianne
Faber last Tuesday evening. Sev-
eral contests and readings were
enjoyed by the guests.

Dianne in opening the gifts.
Dianne, who had been taken com-
pletely by surprise, made a fitting
reply and lunch was served,
On Friday evening Mrs.
William Oesch and Mrs. Cornie
Faber were hostesses for amis-
cellaneous shower at the home
of Mrs. Oesch when relatives
of the bride gathered to honor
her. Mrs, Emerson Coleman was
in charge of the program. Read-
ings were given by Mrs. Ken
Faber, Mrs. Tom Penhale and
Mrs. Coleman.
The address was read by Emma
Oesch and Dianne was assisted
in opening the many lovely gifts
by her mother and sister Mrs.
Penhale. Dianne thanked all for
gifts and invited all to her trous-
seau tea to be held Saturday,

Floyd Elmer Turner of RR 1
Varna, died Thursday Nov. 24
in Victoria Hospital, London, as
a result of severe head injuries
received in a car accident three
weeks earlier from which he
never regained consciousness.

let Township November 15, 1937

four sisters, Mrs. Edgar (Ruth)
Willert of RR 1 Zurich, Mrs.
Gerald (Jean) Rathwell, Bruce-
field, Brenda and Janice at home.
Sunday at 2 pm largely attended
funeral services were held in St.
Andrew's United Church, Kippen
conducted by the Minister, Rev,
D. Stuart with the Bonthron fun-
eral Home in charge. Interment
was in Hayfield cemetery.

Lucan-Clandeboye Exlorers, last
Monday, the following girls were
presented with their first Gold
Star: Jeanette Barr, Karen Her-
bert, Jane Lockyer, Lynn Melan-

girls, Suzanne Bradley, Suzanne
Leckie and Lynn Mel anson staged
a play, "The Meaning of Advent",
Mrs. Ross McRoberts, assisted

scripture reader Luanne Taylor,
used the Advent wreath for the
worship service.

hale of Hayfield on Saturday even-
ing, Nov. 19, The evening was
spent in contests and readings by
Linda Rader and Carol Penhale,
A bride's book was passed around.

Penhale and Sylvia Oesch pre-
sented Dianne with the many
lovely gifts. She was assisted
in opening them by Sandra Bolt-
on and patsy Faber after which
the bride made a fitting reply.,
