The most important thing is though, we have our compressor back in operation. We will have public skating this coming week- end, Saturday night 8-10 pm and on Sunday 3-5 pm. Minor Hockey starts here Friday October 28 Lucan vs Ilderton, pee wee, bant- am and midget starting at 7 pm. We will have Free skating for pre-school children starting Wed. Nov. 2 from 2-3 pm every week. PERSONALS Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Robb were Monday guests of Mr. ,Se Mrs. Jim Bawtenheimer of Sarnia, tak- ing home their three-year-old grandson Jeff Hawtenheimer s Mr. & Mrs. Ron Crozier and Jane attended the funeral of Mr. E. P. Yorke of Belleville. (Mr. Crozier was one of his uncle's pallbearers). They also visited Mrs. A. I. Crozier of Kingston. Monday night was Parent s' Night for those with pupils in Grade 9 and 13 at Medway H.S. Miss Violet Saunders of Dun- das has returned home, after spending a week with Mrs. Alma Price. Joseph Kelly 76, of Detroit, came to Lucan to attend the funeral of his cousin, Miss Mary Casey, After leaving the funeral home Saturday evening, he went to stay the weekend with Mr, Thomas Casey, During the night he took a heart attack and died. The C. Haskett & Son Funeral Home was in charge of transfer- ring the body to the Sweeney Fu- neral Home, Dexter St. Detroit for burial. MISS MARY CASEY Miss Mary Casey 82, of Bid- dulph Township passed away in Victoria Hospital Friday, Oct, 21. The body rested in the C. Haskett & Son Funeral Home, Lucan, where prayers were said Sunday evening, Monday Oct. 24 at St. Patrick's Church, Biddulph Requiem High Mass was held at Lions greet new member President Wes Colley presided at the dinner meeting of the Lucan Lions in the Anglican Church basement last Monday evening. Plans were finalized for the costume dance Friday, October 28 and for the draw at the Legion Hall, November 18. The proceeds from the latter will go for wel- fare work. One new member was welcom- ed, Mr. Norman Steeper, prin- cipal of the Lucan Public School. It was decided to again sponsor a House Hockey team, Registra- tion will be held Nov. 5 and Nov. 12 from 9 to 11 am. Lion Harold Butler won the door prize. Mrs. Russell Bowman and Mrs. Cliff Shipley's group of the La- dies Guild catered for the dinner. Cubs plan apple day Two more chums were invested at the cub meeting Friday even- ing —John Henson and Randy Kraul. There were two new members, David Kennedy and Scott Leckie, bringing the total enrolment now to 27. There was also two visit- ors, Mrs. Jack Henson and Miss Lina Abbott. Prior to the meeting Miss Abbott was surprised and much pleased when 2. cub, Sandy Leckie, came to her door and presented her, on behalf of the Cubs, with one of their new 196'7 Calendars, in appreciation for the publicity she is giving them. Miss Abbott went to their meeting to thank the boys in person. While there she gave them a short talk. During the business session it was announced Apple Day would be Saturday, Oct. 29. SURE 'AN THIS IS BIDDULPH Free copies of the book "Sure An This is Biddulph", written for the Biddulph Council by Mrs. Clarence Lewis, are being sent to all Biddulph ratepayers, as a Centennial project. Anyone else wishing to secure a copy, can do so for $1.50.
