In their fourth outing of the season, the senior footballers handled by Ron Bogart broke loose and shut out St. Marys Collegiate gridders in the stone town, Friday, 01-0, The next battle will bring the Central Huron boys from Clint- on to the local high school field, Friday afternoon, Bogart was very enthusiastic about his team's performance in St. Marys and says "we'll be ready", when commenting op the upcomi ng Clinton contest. Jim Hoffman and Gary Parsons are shown going through some of the limbering up exercises. the Panther backfield to run up three touchdowns. The defensive brigade, led by Uilke Nagel,. Robert Mickle, Len Hume, Jim Desjardine and Brad Hamilton kept the St. Marys run- ners under centrol and held them to a total net yardage of three yards in the final quarter. In addition to his touchdown grab, Hockey snared another pass and recovered a St. Marys fum- ble. Two other home team fum- bles were gathered in by an alert Jim Desjardine, who also inter- cepted a pass. Other top two way performers for the panthers were Ron young- ash, Len Hume and. Ron Durand. The local signal callers excelled in their departments. Bud Des- Jardine handled the plays while on the offensive and GordGreen- wood set up the defensive align- ment against the St. Marys attack. In summing up the Panther win, coach Bogart commented, "Every player did a good job, it was a good team effort - much different than the week before." An exciting pass play from quarter Bud Desjardine to end Dennis Hockey good for 40 yards gave the Panthers a first quart- er touchdown and a lead they never relinquished. Hockey grab- bed the pass 20 yards over the line of scrimmage and outfoxed two would-be tacklers to go the rest of the way to pay dirt. Back to back major scores in the final fifteen minutes of play by Desjardine and Al Youngash increased the Exeter scoring to,- tal. Danny Cameron completed the counting by adding two con- verts and a single point. Cameron pulled off one of the best plays of the day in the first period, galloping 40 yards on counter play off tackle, but when he seemed to be in the clear step., ped out of bounds to end the run. The South Huron line, both of- fensively and on the defence, was stout throughout, Clarence Ayotte, Martin M anl e y, Hans Zeehuisen and Bill H uxt ab 1 e opened up the holes that allowed TA 8 BTO(R.
