The sum of $1,126 was taken In with expenses to be de- ducted. The workers are amazed at all the items which appear at each sale. Saturday the furni- ture auction realized $78, the silent auction, $34, and the “Oval Room" where the better dresses and coats are sold, brought in $198. ,,Shoes! Shoes! shoes! There were more shoes than ever for this sale." said one of the convenors, one carton opened contained lovely dresses, freshly laundered and ironed but they reached to the ankle in length-.that was really, a "2 for 1,0 sale. ""It was a pleasure to hang them", said one member. Items for the good used children's clothing were scarce for, in other sales, the ladies at RCAF Centralia had donated generously to this de- partment. Frith, London, and Leonard Norman Pickering, son of Mrs. Pickering and the late Elmer Pickering, Dashwood, exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, Oc- tober 8 at 2 pm in Dundas St. Centre United Church decorated with yellow daisy mums, white gladioli , palms and lighted candelabra. Rev. Roderick Macdonald of- ficiated and Mrs. Edith Pack, London, played the wedding music and accompanied the soloist, Miss Carol Barker, Mossley, who sang The Wedding Prayer and 0 Love Divine and Tender. Given in marriage by her father the bride chose a snow white norganza gown in floor- length styled with slim bell- shaped skirt, batteau neckline and short shoulder cape trimmed with a band of Chantilly lace. Match- ing bands of lace trimmed the skirt. A cascade of norganza in unpressed pleats fell from the waistline forming a peacock train. Orange blossoms and snowdrops held the bouffant veil, She carried a cascade of gar- denias, white daisy mums with yellow centres and stephanotis, Miss Barbara Frith, London, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Gerald Latta, London and Mrs. Alfred Le Blanc, Montreal. They were gowned alike in formal dresses of Indian green organza over taffeta featuring empire waist with lace bodices and bell- shaped sleeves . The juniors are the "Go-Go Gals" with Theresa Romaniuk as pres- ident and Mary Hearn, secretary. Mrs. George Sereda is leader. The intermediates with Mrs. D. A. Ecker as leader have Sheila Willert as president and Jane Broderick, secretary. Mrs. Roy Stover is leader of the seniors with Cheryl par- sons as leader and Barbara Dougall, secretary. Trivitt ladies plan supper Tuesday evening, October 11, the Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church Woman's Auxiliary meet- ing opened with readings from the "Living Message". Plans were finalized for the ham and bean supper on October 25 and orders are now being taken for mincemeat and Calen- dars. The Department Of Family Life (pre-school) clothing bale is to be packed sometime this month. Mrs. W. E. Middleton gave a combined report on the WA Fall meeting of Huron Deanery at St. John's Church, Brussels, and on the WA Diocesan semi annual at Stratford. An invitation was extended to the ladies to attend the South Region of Huron Presbyterial UCW annual Regional meeting at Elimville United Church October 28, commencing at 90.5 am. Huron's UCW plan area event The fifth regional meeting of Huron Presbyterial UCW is being held in ElittiVille United Church, octobet 28 In Morning and after- noon sessions. Guest speaker will. be Mrs. E. Eglisson of Woodstock and discussion groups Will be a fea- ture of the afternoon session. Noon lunch will be served. Registration is at 0:15 Fri- day morning.
