HOPPER BLANSHARD Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Grasby of London held open house Sun- day, September 25for the latter's Fred McCiyMont, Varna, maintained his title as champion exhibitor in the fruits and vege- tables sections at the Exeter fair. The veteran exhibitor scored 20 first, seven seconds and a third, with most of the points coming for his apples. Mrs. William Dickey, RR I. Centralia, picked up 13 first, two seconds and a third to place in the runner-up position. Mrs. Harold Cudmore, RR 3 Exeter, had four firsts, six sec- onds and four thirds in the same section, while Mrs. Roy Pepper, scored three firsts, three sec-, onds and a third. Mrs. Tom Triebner, RR 1 Ex- eter, had two firsts, six seconds and three thirds and Cecil Van Steeg, RR 3 Exeter, had three firsts and a second. Nine other persons picked up a first place ribbon. They were: Mrs. Case Zeehulsen, RR 1 Hay; Mrs. Stephen Gingerich, RR 2 Zurich; Tom Triebner, RR 1 Exeter; Hugh Rundle, RR 3 Ex- eter; Mrs. S. E. Fete bride at Clandeboye Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claire Sisson of RR 6 St. Marys form- erly of Strathroy on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniver- sary, The home was beautiful with several bouquets of flowers. The dining table was graced with 70-year-old white damask cloth used 25 years ago centred with a three-tiered cake, The celebrants have one daugh- ter, Mrs. Lawrence Grasby and two granddaughters Debbie and Linda Grasby, Bride and groom wore a cor- sage of pink roses and a pink rose boutonniere. Parents of the bride, wore a corsage of yellow carna- tions and a yellow carnation bou- tonniere, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Grasby wore a corsage of vent- gated carnations and varigated carnation boutonniere and Debbie and Linda Grasby wore white carnation boutonnieres. Those who assisted in the af- ternoon were Mrs. William G. Jones, St. Marys, Miss Elaine Robertson of Woodstock, Mrs. Robert Wilson, Kerwood and Miss Jean Johnson, Watford. Assisting in the evening were Mrs. Loftus Muxlow, Mrs. George Rohotham, Mrs. Orland Akins, all ofStrath- roy, Mrs. LaVerne Hawken, Ar- kona, Mrs. Gordon Boyce of Lon- don. They were the recipients of many beautiful gifts and cards. Guests were present from Sutton, Woodstock, London, Strathroy, St. Marys, Kerwood, Watford, Arkona, Ailsa Craig, Kitchener. Miss Debbie Millson entertained with selec- tions on her piano accordion. Saturday Mrs. Clarence Mill- son attended a trousseau tea at the home of Mrs. Hamilton Hod- gins in honor of her daughter.
