tended the twentieth wedding an-
niversary of Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd
Jones. Mrs. Jones is a sister of
Mrs. Grace.

and family were guests of Mrs.
Chris Dinney. Cpl Taylor, form-
erly of North Bay, has been

Local teachers return to work
Crediton gals plan for season

CREDITON
The first meeting of the 441
Supper Club was held Saturday,
September 10 in the Township
Hall. Twenty-three girls attend-
ed. Because of the large number
present, two clubs were organiz-
ed.
Mrs, Harvey Hodgins and Mrs.
Leslie Morley are leaders of
Club 1, Mrs. Cliff Kenney and
Mrs. Russell Finkbeiner of Club
2, Nancy Scott was appointed
president, Susan Morley secret-
ary of Club 1, Linda Haugh pre-
sident, and Wendy Neil secret-
ary of Club 2.
The topics discussed were
"Good Food Makes the Differ-
ence", "Canada's Food Guide
for Good Health", "Abbrevia-
tions Used in Recipes" and
"Dishwashing".
The next meeting is scheduled
for September 17, at 1:30 pm in
the Stephen Township Hall.

of Toronto were weekend guests

Miss Wilhelmina Verkerk is
attending Calvin College at Grand
RaPids, Michigan.
David Gibson has been a patient
at St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
He returned home Monday.
Mrs. Riga Borland, 93-year-
old sister of Joe Wein, called
on her brother Sunday. Mrs.

Mr. Robert Callingham is man-
ager of the Bank of Montreal at
Crediton. Mr. Callingham was
transferred from Walkerton. Mr.
Sturroch is now at Chatsworth
near Owen Sound.
Miss Janet Morlock, October
bride-elect, was honored by a
community shower in the Town-
ship Hall Friday evening. Host-
esses for the event were Mrs.
Ross Krueger, Mrs. Edmond
Hendrick and Mrs. Gordon Fink-
beiner.
An open meeting of the Wo-
men's" Institute is scheduled for
8:15 Tuesday evening, Septem-
ber 20. Mrs. Helen Davis of
Woodstown, New Jersey is to be
the speaker.
There will be a meeting for
Scouts. Thursday evening, Sep-
tember 15, at seven o'clock in
the Township Hall. All boys be-
tween the ages of 12 and 18 are
eligible.
September 15 the Huron County
Bookmobile will effect a book
exchange at the Crediton Lib-
rary. Books chosen by the li-
brarian will be available to read-
ers during the next three months.
The general attitude of pupils
toward the Stephen Township
Area School was expressed by
one pupil in response to the ques-
tion "How do you 1 ik e the
school?" With an eager smile,
the answer came in one word,
"Nice".

Ross Haugh attended a course in
Junior Education at Goderich,
Collects colorful stamps
An ardent stamp collector Bart Pascuzzo of Crediton is shown with a small portion of his collection of
colorful Russian stamps. He has approximately 1,600 mounted as above, being the complete Russian
issue for the years 1954-64. The area philatelic enthusiast hopes to be able to show some of his "pride
and joy" at the Exeter Fair. At the moment a class for stamp collections is not on the fair agenda.

Mrs. Lorne Preszcator, one on
Primary Methods in London. Mr.
Donald Finkbeiner pursued his
studies toward a BA degree at
the University of Western On-
tario, as did Mr. Reg Finkbeiner,
who took a course in psychology,
with a view to dealing with emo-
tionally disturbed children.
Mrs. Robert Crawford has
Grade 1 in Clinton Public School;
Mr. Mask is teaching Grade 6
at the J.A.D. McCurdy School.
Mrs. Haugh specializes in
science and teaches classes in
that subject to Grades 5, 6,
and 8 at the Usborne C ent r al
S c ho o 1. Mrs. Preszcator has
Grades 1 and 2 at Parkhill Me-
morial School.
Mr. Don Finkbeiner teaches
Grades 7 and 8 at the Stephen
Township Area School. Mr. Reg
Finkbeiner is employed at Tec-
umseh School, London, teaching
Grades 5 and 6.
Crediton resident restores Ford creation

Ford. He has spent about a year in completely overhauling the motor, installing new upholstery and apply-
ing a fresh coat of paint. The lamp post that shows partially in the background is one that Reid pur-

Larry Lippert, a Grade 2 pupil
at the Stephen Area School, is
denied the experience of riding on
the school bus because he still
has a full cast on his leg. His
mother, Mrs. Earl Lippert,
transports him and his whee 1-
chair each day in the family car.
Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Zurbiigg
of Waterloo spent last week with
Rev. & Mrs. Howard Zurbrigg.
Rev. Howard Zurbrigg was an-
niversary speaker last Sunday 1
at the EUB Church, Kurtzville.
Kurtzville, eight miles from Lis-
towel, is Mr. Zurbrigg's boy-
hood home.
Mr. Steve Brierley left Mon-
day to attend Emmanuel Bible
College, Kitchener.
Mr. Ron Weber returns to
classes at the University of West-
ern Ontario next week. He will
be following the course in third
