of Goderich have moved Into the

Mr. John Corbett and Al, Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Corbett attended
the Anderson-Morenz wedding in
the United Church, Grand Bend,
Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs, Douglas Daily
and Steven of London visited
over the weekend with the latter's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Parker and Patsy.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Love
of Toronto visited this week with
the former's father, Mr. Milton.
Love, who is a patient in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter.
Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle, Bob
and Ann spent Sunday with the
former's son-In-law and daugh-
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Ross MacMil-
lan and their family in Waterloo.

help budget
The University of Western On-
tario Extension Department is
planning to offer two courses in
Clinton this coming fall and wint-
er at the Central Huron Secondary
School. These courses are offer-
ed particularly for the teachers
of Clinton and surrounding area.
Beginning on Saturday, Sep-
tember 24, Prof. G. Buckley will
offer English 20, general litera-
ture and composition, and Dr.
H. M. Simpson will lecture in
Psychology 20, introduction to
Psychology.
These two courses to be of-
fered in Clinton will be present-
ed for a total of 16, three-hour
sessions in the Central Huron
Secondary School, and will be
open to both credit and non-
credit students.
Three courses will be offered
at Central Secondary School,
Stratford and will begin on Sat-
urday, September 24.

Mr. Robert McNaughton, son
of Mr. & Mrs. James McNaugh-
ton, commences his course at the
University of Guelph this week.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Jones visit-
ed Sunday with Mrs. Herb Jones
of Hensall, a patient in St. Jo-
seph's Hospital, London.
Mrs. Harry Van Wierien re-
ceived word from Holland last
week of the sudden passing of
her mother, the late Mrs. An-
thony Ventol. She was in her
74th year and she with her hus-
band, visited Mr. & Mrs. Van
Wierien only five years ago,
remaining in Canada eleven
months.
Miss Lorie Jane Adkins of
Zurich spent a few days last
week with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Mc-
Lachlan.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Jones and
boys visited recently with Mr.
& Mrs. Art Ashworth and Carol
of Denfield.
married at Oxbow, Saskatchewan
60 years ago. Mrs. O'Brien was
the former Elizabeth Tinney of
Hay Township. She and her hus-
band were childhood playmates
for he, too, was a native of Hay
Township but moved with his fam-
ily to the West when a young man
of 20. They farmed inSaskatche-
wan for some time following their
marriage but returned and farm-
ed in Tuckersmith Township in
1936. They retired to Exeter in
1956.
Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien have five
daughters; Mrs. Joseph (Mar-
garet) Lostell, RR 3 Kippen;
Mrs. Frank (Alma) Lostell, RR 3
Exeter; Mrs. Robina McLeod,
London; Mrs. Wilmer (Ella) Dal-
rymple, RR 2 Kippen; Mrs. Ben
(Nettie) Tinney, RR 1 Exeter.
They also have 23 grandchildren
and 32 great-grandchildren.
All visitors to the fair, either
Wednesday evening or Thursday
afternoon have the opportunity
to win any one of the three prizes
offered by the Exeter Agricul-
tural Society.
At a time when the cost of
living index is on the rise, any
of these prizes would be a wel-
come addition to any family.
The first ticket drawn will
entitle the holder to a hind quart-
er of beef, donated from the farm
of Winston Shapton. One half of
pork, courtesy of Bev Morgan
and Sons will go to the person in
possession of the second ticket
pulled,
Donald Dearing will be donat-
ing one dressed lamb as third
prize in next week's draw.
All of the meat will be cut and
wrapped by Exeter Frozen Foods.
Tickets to participate in the draw
will be on sale during the Fair
and will sell for 25 or 5 for $1.
