Harold S. Taggart, London,
was elected president of the As-
sociation of Kinsmen Clubs at
the annual meeting held in Fort
William, August 24-27,
A well known lawyer, Mr. Tag-
gart served as vice-president of
the Association last year and now
succeeds Will Klein of Regina,
Saskatchewan.
Three Hensall residents will
Mr. & Mrs. Stewart McQueen
entertained relatives at dinner
Sunday at Hotel Hensall and after-
wards at their home, Richmond
Street. The occasion marked Mr.
& Mrs. McQueen's 55th wedding
anniversary, the 15th wedding
anniversary of their son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Harry
Snell and the birthday of their
daughter, Mrs. Donald Rigby of
Blenheim.
Charles Mickle returned home
Thursday by jet from Rome with
a group of teachers from Hamil-
ton and district who were on a
world's tour. They spent several
days in Japan, China, India, Egypt
and Greece. They also spent a
few days in Hong Kong, Malaysia,
Thailand, Cambodia, Kashmir,
Iran and Italy. Charles reported
that the trip was very interesting
and informative and the hospit-
ality in each country was excel-
lent.

parting for her apartment in

Madden for the past three weeks.

Hospital Friday.

Saturday, August 13 Mrs. John
Dunnell entertained at a trous-
seau tea honoring her daughter
Barbara whose marriage to Mr.
Donald Kyle took place Saturday
afternoon August 20 in Zion East
United Church. Mrs. Dunnell,
Barbara and Mrs. Byran Kyle,
mother of the groom, received
the guests.
The tea table was lovely with
a lace cloth centred with a silver
bowl of white mums and pink car-
nations flanked with pink tapers.
Pouring tea were Mrs. Ernest
Marriott, great aunt of the bride,
Mrs. T. Kyle, grandmother of the
groom and Miss Isabell Dunnell
and Mrs. M. Dann aunts of the
bride.
Serving were Miss Ann Thom-
son, Mrs. T. Henry, Miss Mar-
lene Baker and Mrs. J. Bakker.
Showing the trousseau were Mrs,
Ken Walker and Miss Suzanne
Kyle and in the gift room were
Miss Sandra Dunnell and Miss
Nancy Kyle. The kitchen helpers
were Mrs. Harold Stevens, Mrs.
Harvey Dunnell and Mrs. Charles
Gowan.
The bride has been honored
with several showers. The staff
of William Tredway School in
Scarborough entertained with a
miscellaneous shower. Hostess-
es for other showers were Mrs.
Ken Walker at her home in Lon-
don; Mrs. Elmer Stevens and
Mrs. Nelson Sweitzer at the
former's home in Rannoch;
Eighth Line community and Pros-
pect Hill Institute at Prospect
Hill; Misses Suzanne and Nancy
Kyle at the latter's home inHen-
sall and Miss Isabell Dunnell at
her home in St. Marys.
Following the wedding re-
hearsal Friday night Mr. and
Mrs. Byran Kyle entertained the
bridal party at their home in Hen-
sall.

Hensall also won two awards
at the convention. The entire
club under president Jim Hyde
won a Boake efficiency award,
and John Baker won the National
Junior Bulletin Award. His bul-
letin was chosen best out of all
Junior Kinsmen Clubs across
Canada.
Kinsmen Clubs across Canada
are well-known for their many
contributions to Community Bet-
terment and Service Work. Dur-
ing the past year more than
two-thirds of an estimated $350,-
000 for a Workshop for training
personnel to work for retarded
children has been raised by the
422 Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs
in Canada.
It is hoped to turn the sod for
this building in Toronto this year.
Hensall, cousin of the groom,
ushered guests.
A reception and dinner was held
in the church rooms where the
bride's mother received guests
in a blue-green brocade dress
with matching feather hat and
white carnation corsage. The
groom's mother chose a pink lace
dress with three-quarter coat,
matching feather hat and rose-
colored carnation corsage.
For travelling in Eastern Ont-
ario and United States the bride
changed to a lime green suit,
black patent accessories and
green orchid corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. Kyle will live in
Hamilton where the bride is on
the teaching staff and the groom
is with the Bank of Montreal.

ring ceremony uniting in mar-
riage Barbara Anne Marie Dun-
nell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John Dunnell, RR 6 St. Marys,
and Donald Campbell Kyle, Ham-
ilton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan
Kyle, Hensall, in Zion East United
Church Saturday, August 20 at
3:30 p.m.
Rev. Ross Crosby DD officiated
and Mrs. Charles Gowan, Granton
aunt of the bride, played the wed-
ding music and accompanied the
soloist, Mrs. J. McRae, Rexdale,
who sang the Wedding Prayer
and the Lord's Prayer.
Given in marriage by her father
the bride wore a formal gown of
white peau de soie with empire
waist, scoop neckline and puritan
sleeves covered in lace. A chapel
train edged in lace fell from a
tiny bow at the back. A petal
headpiece held her three-tiered
elbow-length veil of silk illusion.
She carried a cascade of white
roses, mums and stephanotis.
Mrs. Ken Walker, London, was
matron of honor for her sister
in a formal gown of crystal blue
crepe styled with empire waist,
lace bodice, scoop neckline and
elbow-length sleeves. Mrs. Peter
Kruuk, Se ar bo ro , and Miss
Suzanne Kyle, Hensall, sister of
the groom, were bridesmaids
gowned similarly to the matron
of honor. Each attendant carried
a cascade of rose colored car-
nations, roses and white lilies.

A largely attended Shower was
held Thursday evening in Staffa
township hall when friends and
relatives gathered to honor Miss
Wanda Moore, bride-elect.
Misses Romona and Joanne
Warden conducted several con-
