They lust kept Coming!
That's what happened Wednes-

becue in Exeter in honor of the
lion, C. S. MacNaughton.
Persons started to line up
for ,beefburgers at 6:00 p.m.
and the last person wasn't served
until shortly after 8:00. During
that time the lineup extended
the length of the ice Surface at
the arena and at times stretched
right out the front door,
While organizers had antici-
pa.teci a good crowd, the 1,400
who attended constituted far more
than they had expected.
The meal was prepared by the
Exeter Legion Ladies Auxiliary
and various vehicles made con-
stant trips to the Legion Hall to
transport the food up to the
Arena as it was required.
The decision to move the event
from Riverview Park to the Arena

inclement weather during the

The two photos above could have been taken almost any time last Wednesday night as the lineups to get
into the barbecue in honor of the Hon. C. S. MacNaughton remained steady for over two hours. Despite
the fact the Legion Auxiliary had two feed lines set up, the lineup often stretched the entire length of
the ice surface at the arena and at times even extended right out the front door of the arena. A crowd
estimated at over 1;400 was on hand and "Charlie" had a busy night as he attempted to personally greet
all those in attendance, as he is seen doing in the bottom photo. The event was attended by persons
from throughout the riding as"well as politicians from surrounding communities. T-A photos
