and Mrs. Robert Lammie inClin-
ton Friday evening in honor of
their recent marriage.
An address was read and the
young couple were presented with
a picnic table, benches, a bar-
becue and a purse of money.

Relatives and friendsfrom this
community attended the funeral
of the late George Davis, Exeter,
Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Davis
was a former member of St.
Patrick's Church and this com-
munity.
Mr. & Mrs. Earl Greenlee
were Sunday guests with Mr. &
Mrs. Heber Davis. Jeffrey Young,
Lucan, went home with them.
He had spent the past week with
his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs.
Davis,
Miss Sharon Davis, London,
spent Saturday with her parents,
Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Davis.
Mrs. Rd. Dickins, Exeter, Miss
Heather Davis and Mrs. Heber
Davis spent Friday afternoon with
Miss Joan Barker at St. Joseph's
Hospital.
Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Shipley and
grandson Jamie were Saturday

Harry Carroll.
Mr. Jim Barker who broke
his ankle while unloading baled
straw, spent Tuesday at St. Jo-
seph's hospital where the doctors
put on a walking cast.
Mrs. Fred Dobbs Jr. and Fred-
die have spent the summer at
Grand Bend. Mr. Dobbs joins
them for the weekends and the
evenings.

Mrs. W. F. Edmonds, the form-
er Ruby Pierce of Silver Water,
Ontario passed away in the hos-
pital at Mindemoya, Ont. Wednes-
day August 3.
The late Mrs. Edmonds was
born and raised in McGillivray
Township and attended Brinsley
SS 6 School also Lucan High
School. Before her marriage she
was a member of Marr's Hill
Church and a Sunday School
teacher, choir member, also or-
ganist for a time.
After her marriage she became
a member of Silver Water United
Church and was very active in
church work. She was held in high
esteem by all who knew her.
The funeral was held from
Silver Water United Church Fri-
day August 5. Mr. and Mrs. Ray-
mond Pierce, Mrs. J. F, Herring
and Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Pierce,
all of London, attended the funeral
of their aunt. Also attending were
