New street lights come on Friday
Exeter's new street lights will be officially turned on this Friday night, No special public ceremonies are
planned for the occasion, although many stores will remain open until 10:00 pm to mark the event. The
Exeter Board af Trade have asked the retail members to remain open until the later hour.--T-A photo

The annual Bern reunion was
held Sunday, July 10 at Riverview
Park, Exeter with an attendance
of 87 with dinner at 1:30.
Officers elected for 1967 were:
President, Robert Horn; vice-
president, Gerald Bern; secre-
tary treasurer, Mrs., Bev Skin-
ner. Winners in sports were:
Kevin and Billy Bern, Murray
McKeen, Fred Horn, Nancy Hern,
Mary Ellen Horn, Alan Hern,

Jack Genttner
dies in London
Adolph (Jack) Genttner passed
away at St. Joseph's hospital
London, Sunday, July 17 in his
60th year. Born and raised in
Dashwood he was a resident of
Marian Villa Nursing home. Sur-
viving are one son, Gerald Gentt-
ner; five daughters, Mrs. Gordon
(Joanne) Tischler, Mrs. Fred
(Jean) Hahn, Mrs. Clevelen
(Annie) Kish, all of London; Mrs.
Thomas (Vine) Emery of Lucan;
Mrs. Hugh (Theresa) Johnson of
Mt. Brydges; father, Frederick
Genttner of Dashwood; sisters,
Mrs. Edward (Selma) Wright,
Mrs. Mame Fritzley and Mrs.
Irene mireau all of London;
brothers, Ralph of Exeter and
Lorne of Dashwood; also 15
grandchildren and 5 great grand-
children.
The body rested at the Needham
Memorial Chapel until Wednes-
day morning then at St. Martin's
Roman Catholic church and inter-
ment was made in St. Peter's
cemetery.

Two crashes,
damage slight
Exeter police had only two
minor accidents to investigate
this week, both taking place Sat-
urday.
At 11:25 am a bread truck
driven by John Joseph Trailer,
London, backed out of a laneway
at a local store and hit a car
owned by William Harvey, 4 John
Street.
Constable Irwin Ford estimat-
ed damage to the car at $60.
Two cars collided on Main
Street later in the afternoon with
total damage estimated at $45.
Involved were convertibles
driven by Alvin Ross Gould, RR 1
Exeter, and F/L Pierre Bour-
gault, CFB Centralia.
Constable Ford reported that
Bourgault had stopped on Main
Street and was hit from the rear
by Gould.

of the meeting using as the theme
"Canada". The scripture was
read by Mrs. John Rodd and Mrs.
LaVerne Rodd gave a reading on
"Canada".

The annual Sheppard reunion
was held Friday, July 1 at Cor-
onation Park, Parkhill.
A picnic lunch was enjoyed
followed by a short business
meeting.
