Local woman
dies at Clinton
Mrs. George Jenkins, 89, of
Hensall, passed away Wednes-
day night, July 13 at Huronview.
She was the former Margaret
A. Roy.
Surviving are three daughters:
Mrs. Harry (Edith) McIntyre,
Clinton; Mrs. Orville (Mary) Hil-
liard, Exeter; Mrs. G.W. (Gladys)
Molleken, Chicago, one son Roy,
Toronto; six grandchildren and
eleven great-grandchildren. Her
husband passed away some years
ago, and a daughter Mrs. H.G.
Webster, of Hensall, predeceased
her June 2 of this year. The
late Mrs. Jenkins rested at the
Bonthron Funeral Home Hensall
until Saturday noon when she was
taken to the Sime Funeral Home,
Grand Valley, for public ser-
vices at 3.30 pm with burial in
Grand Valley Union cemetery.

Merner family
meet for picnic
Seaforth Lions park was the
setting for the annual Merner
Reunion Sunday, July 17, when
some eighty friends and relatives
from Zurich, Detroit, Windsor,
Hensall, Dashwood, Elora, Ha-
milton and New Dundee, Exeter,
London, Lachine, Quebec, gath-
ered.
Attending the reunion from the
farthest distance was Mrs. Har-
old Smith and family from La-
chine, Quebec.
President Hubert Schilbe of
Zurich presided for a brief bu-
siness meeting when it was de-
cided to hold the 1967 reunion
at Farview Farm of Arnold Mer-
ner, Zurich.
Officers for 1967 are: Presi-
dent, Hubert Schilbe, Zurich; se-
cretary-treasurer, Mrs. Byran
Kyle, Hensall; sports committee,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Merner,
Zurich.

Mrs. David Morrissey and
children have returned home
after spending a week at her
Parents' cottage in Grand Bend.
Mr. & Mrs. Herb Person and
family, Detroit, are Spending
their vacation with the latter's
mother Mrs. Laura McCann and
other relatives.

a weekend visitor with Mr. &
Mrs. Bill McCann and family.

with Mrs. Frank Trainor and

Grove Sunday. Larry McCarthy
returned home with them after
enjoying his holidays there.

An enjoyable time was held
Friday evening at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bowman
when friends and neighbors gath-
ered to wish them well on their
recent 40th wedding anniversary.
A rousing shivaree started off
the evening after which everyone
joined in singing old favorite
songs with Mrs. A. Daynard at
the piano.
Jim Scott expressed best wish-
es on behalf of all present and
Gordon Hoggarth made the pre-
sentation of an electric clock to
Mr. and Mrs. Bowman. Lunch
brought the evening to a close.
The annual picnic of the Odd-
fellows, Rebekah, and their fa-
milies, will be held this •Sun-
day July 24 at Riverview Park,
Exeter.

Legion, Auxiliary and their fa-
milies was held Sunday after-
noon at Riverview Park, Exeter.
Mrs. Garnet Allan directed

turned home after a 16-day-trip
