In St. Marys Saturday the locals were trounced 23-9 and were on the short end of a 7-2 count Tues- day to Brucefield on the Exeter diamond. In Tuesday's loss, D a rl en e Snell and Ann Cronyn were the only Exeter gals to cross the plate, both in the fifth. Betty Graham tossed the win for Bruce- field and collected three hits at the plate. Pat Down was on the Greys' mound in the loss to St, Marys and Sherry Robinson toiled a- gainst Brucefield. MARTENE REUNION The fifth Martene reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marlene and family June 26. Seventy-five were present. LOUIS RADER Mrs. Louis R eder , 80, of Huronview, Clinton, formerly of Dashwood, died Monday, June 27. She was the former Elizabeth Decker and widow of the late Louis Rader. Surviving are one son, Alvin, Hay; one daugher, (Laura) , Mrs. Oscar Miller, Dashwood; sister, Mrs, Laurette Weide, Zurich, and brother, William Decitere Zurich, The body Is resting at the T, Harry Hoffman funeral home. Service will be at Zion Lutheran Church 2 pm Thursday. SCOUT BANQUET Boy Scouts and Cubs father and son banquet was held Monday at Dashwood centre, The guest speaker was Father ,Tansen of Mt. Carmel whose topic was youth, Mr. C. Wood spoke and showed films on conservation and Scout activities. Jack Gallant presented pen- nants to Larry Fleet and his patrol for tree climbing and to Michael Tiernan and his patrol for ball throw, These activities took place at the camporee at Fanshawe Lake in May. PERSONALS Miss Nor ma Weigand was counsellor for Huron 4-H girls at Guelph University last week. She also vacationed with Miss Elsie Miller of Zion at Grand Bend recently. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Batson of Detroit called on Mrs. Herb Wein Saturday. Mrs. Jacob Martins of Sask- atchewan visited with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Keller prior to her family moving to British Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Reste- mayer and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe vacationed at Inverlocky Lodge last week. Miss Irma Keller of London is vacationing at her home here.
