• BIRTHS— ENGAGEMENTS— IN MEMORIAM— CARDS OF THANKS —
I wish to express my sincere
thanks to my friends, neighbors
and relatives, who sent cards,
flowers and treats while I was
a patient at Beck Memorial Sana-
torium, London. Special thanks to
Dr. Watts, nurses and staff for
their many acts of kindness and
wonderful care I received also to
any room mates who made my
stay a pleasant one. Also Rev.
N. McLeod for his visits and
to my own family.--.Lloyd Baker.
23c
My sincere thanks to everyone
Who sent cards, flowers and
treats while I was a patient at
St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
also many thanks to those who
visited me while there, — Mrs.
Eric Kennedy. 23c
The Lucan WI.met in the Com-
munity Memorial Centre Thurs-
day with vice-president, Mrs.
Frank Hardy presiding, in the
absence of president, Mrs, T.A.
Watson. Mrs. Murray Hodgins
was at the piano.
Roll pall was answered by
naming something we get free;
The new Canadian flag purchased
by the branch was displayed.
Mrs. Jack Lankin accepted the
position of social convener and
Mrs. John Park and Mrs. Frank
Jolliffe were named the branch's
cancer representatives. It was
voted not to be responsible, this
year, for the CNIB collection
in the village.
There was some discussion
as to where to hold future meet-
ings. The final decision was in
favour of the community centre.
As there have been many chan-
ges in the enrollment list, it
was decided to change some of
the "phoners" and to give each
a new list of names. Mrs. Stew-
art Park consented to remain
convener. The callers will be
Mrs. Frank Hardy, Mrs. Ira
Carling, Mrs. John Park and
Miss Lina Abbott. No action was
reported on the securing of new
seats for the swimming pool.
The meeting was turned over
to Mrs. G.E. Nicholson, who
gave an interesting demonstra-
tion on floral arrangements, after
passing around several magazine
pictures of various types of de-
coration. Tickets were sold on
the three floral arrangements
made by Mrs. Nicholson. The
lucky winners were Mrs. Harvey
Latta, Mrs. Cecil Robb, and Mrs.
Sheridan Revington.
Miss Lina Abbott conducted an
original "Know Your Neighbour"
contest, which was won by Mrs.
Sheridan Revington's group.
Each inern'Jer was asked to
donate a small gift to the Mental
Health patients, Lunch committee
consisted of Mrs. Watson and
Mrs. Hardy.

for the past seven days. We have
managed to get a couple of good
fellows to look after the bantam
baseball team, Wes Colley and
Keith Kraul. Thanks fellows. We
would like to have a couple of
volunteers to take on the task
of looking after the juvenile team.
We have a couple of young la-
dies at camp Kee-Mo-Kee this
week taking a course in play-
ground supervision, Miss Mari-
lyn Hearn and Miss Kathy Math-
ers, both of Lucan. We are hav-
ing playground activities this
summer again Monday through
Friday from 10 to 12 am and 2

We had a bantam baseball game

EVERYONE WELCOME COLE —In loving memory of a

June 24, 1961.
Loving memories never die,
As years roll on and days pass by,
In our hearts a memory is kept,
Of the one we loved and will

MILLS — In loving memory of
my dear husband Lawrence
Russell who passed away one
year ago June 22, 1965.
It is not the tears at the time
that are shed
That tells of a heart that is torn,
But the passionate tears of the
after years
And remembrance silently born;
Just as you were you will always
be
Treasured forever in my memory
The tears in my eyes, I will
wipe away
But the ache in my heart will
always stay.
