ship service, Mrs. Mac Hodgert
gave a reading and a story was
given by Mrs. Jack Stewart and
a piano solo by Linda Hackney,
Mrs. James Simpson had her
button collection and Mrs. Mac
Hodgert commented. Mrs. Donald
Kernick conducted Bible study.
Mrs. William Snow reported
on the bale that was packed
recently, stating its value was
$262.85.
Mrs. Donald Kernick outlined
her weekend at Westminster Col-
lege.

Mrs. Hamilton Hodgins and
Mrs. Ken Hodgins were hostesses
for the June UCW meeting in
the church hall Wednesday even-
ing. Fourteen members answer-
ed the roll call.
Mrs. McCleod Mills was in
charge of the worship service
assisted by Mrs. Hodgins. Mrs,
Wm. French gave a reading,
Mrs. Cecil Squire conducted
the business. Mrs. French was
appointed to preside over the
business meeting for the re-
mainder of the year replacing
Mrs. Atwood, who is leaving the
community shortly. A touch and
take sale was held.

Grandmothers were guests at
the Dashwood WI meeting when
the historical research and cur-
rent events group was in charge
with Mrs. Leonard Schenk con-
venor. Roll call was answered by
naming a pioneer of Dashwood.
Mrs. Irvin Rader discussed
the motto, "Don't be like the
rocking chair, all motion and no
progress". She also read appro-
priate poems.
There was a display of hats,
books, and scarves made by the
4-H girls. The leaders of the
4-H, Mrs. Eben Weigand and
Mrs. Leonard Schenk and assis-
tant leaders, Miss Norma Wei-
gand and Miss Diane Weber were
presented gifts on behalf of the
Institute during the business.
Mrs. Chas. Snell gave the topic
"Things My Grandmother Told
Me". An old-time musical num-
ber was given by several ladies
on the committee. Mrs. Leonard
Schenk gave current events and
also conducted a sing song.
Prizes were given to the grand-
mother with the youngest grand-
child, Mrs. Ervin Schade; the
grandmother with the old e s t
grandchild, Mrs. Lucinda Mc-
Isaac; grandmother with the most
up-to-date dress made by her-
self, Mrs. Everett Heist; grand-
mother with the most buttons,
Mrs. Herb Wein; grandmother
with birthday nearest, Mrs, Ame-
lia Klumpp, A spelling match
was held with Mrs. Emil Becker
winner.
Mrs. Glen Webb, president,
conducted the business. Mrs.Syd
Baker gave a report of the Dis-
trict Annual. A Tweedsmuir his-
tory workshop will be held at
Grand Bend August 16. The In-
stitute is sponsoring a music
recital for the pupils of Miss
Idella Gabel in the community
centre June 30, Lunch and the
"Queen" brought the meeting
to a close.

Zion Lutheran Church Ladies
Aid met Wednesday, June 8, with
group 3 and Mrs. Albert Miller
convenor in charge of devotions,
topic, and lunch. Mrs. Marie
Restemayer took as the topic
the conclusion of Christian
Discipleship.
The president, Mrs. Leonard
Schenk, dealt with the business.
Since this was the final meeting
of the season plans were made
for catering to a wedding in July

Wednesday June 8. Ladies from
the surrounding churches were
invited.
The president Mrs. Stuart
Shier presided over the pro-
gram. Mrs. H. B. McGillicuddy,
CFB Centralia, spoke on cera-
mics. Mrs. Cecil Hall from St.
Marys accompanied by Miss Muir
favored with three cello solos.
Mrs. Earl Watson, Anne Urqu-
hart, Norma and Shirley Switzer
and Brenda McCurdy also contri-
buted to the program. A bake
sale was held and tea was serv-
ed.
