morning for the christening of Clare Ann, infant daughter of Flt.

A children's day service was
held Sunday evening in the Evan-
gelical I./B church. The kinder-
garten, primary, and two junior
classes took part in singing and
class recitations. The kinder-
garten class taught by Mrs, Clay-
ton Merner and Helen Rader
provided singing and recitations.
The primary class taught by
Mrs. Eben Weigand presented
"In business for the King" and
sang, The junior class taught by
Mrs. George Tiernan presented
"Gave a Smile" and sang. The
junior class 2 taught by Mrs.
Gordon Bender presented "Flow-
ers for Children's Day" and
three girls sang,
A short colored movie film
of the Dashwood congregation
and their organization was shown.
A colored filmstrip "Christian
choices in action" was shown.
The offering was designated
for World Relief through "One
Great Hour of Sharing",
CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Rader
celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary June 5 with a dinner
for some thirty relatives and
friends at the Dashwood Hotel.
Present for the occasion were
the attendants, Mrs. Ivan Taylor,
sister of the groom of Waterloo,
and flarold Kraft, brother of the
bride of London; also the couple's
four sons, Arthur, a senior stu-
dent at Concordia Lutheran Sem-
inary, Kenneth, Richard, and
Brian.
Guests were present from
Waterloo, London, Exeter, Zur-
ich and Dashwood.
The evening was spent at their
residence where euchre was
played with Mrs, Leonard Prang
SHOWER FOR BRIDE
Mrs. John Slattery of Boston
(the former Katherine Kipp,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Kipp) was guest of honor at a
miscellaneous shower held re-
cently, in the schoolroom of the
United Church.
On the program were a ballet
dance number by Marikay Hod-
gins, an accordion solo by Sylvia
Dietrich and a reading by Mrs.
Norman Tripp.
An address was read by Mrs.
Don Pickering who assisted the
bride in displaying the gifts.
Katherine expressed her appre-
ciation.

Mrs. W. Spence and family
attended the Brock-Skinner re-
union at Riverview Park at Exe-
ter Sunday.
Mrs. Robt. Marriott is spend-
ing a few days with her sister,
Mrs. Albert Vanderland in Lon-
don.

and Yorkdale Plaza.

BEGIN NEW STUDY
The WSWS of the EUB church
met Friday, June 3, with Mrs.
Sid Baker chairlacly. The aim
of the meeting was to introduce
"Advance Missions" taken by
the missionary education group
which included Mrs. Don Geiser,
Mrs. Eben Weigand, Mrs. Erwin
Schade, Mrs. Clayton Merner,
Mrs. Jessie Rader and Mrs.

Beth Snell favored with a piano

be left at the church before

Auxiliary and two visitors Mrs.

attended the June meeting at the
home of Mrs. Frank Hardy. Pre-
sident, Mrs. P. 0, King pre-
sided,
It was decided to hold no meet-
ings during July and August.
Plans were discussed for the
chicken barbecue and it was de-
cided to extend the date for the
purchasing of tickets from June
15 to June 18.
While lunch was being pre-
pared one of the visitors, Mrs.
Eagle gave a short talk on con-
ditions in England.

In the absence of the president,
Mrs. Jim Davis presided, when
10 members of the Evening WA
met at the home of Mrs. J. W.
Smith last Wednesday evening.

The Evening UCW unit held a
successful rainbow sale in the
Cochrane store last Friday and
Saturday. Articles not sold are
being donated to the bale or the
London Rescue Mission.
