Lancaster exchanged with the Rev. C. Francis Johnson of Wing- ham who has been rector of St. Paul's since 1957, but is retiring this year. Mr. Lancaster was rector from 1947-1952 in the same church Wingham. At the United Church the Rev. G. W. Sach and Mrs. Sach and daughter left last week for Eng- land till the end of June. The service was taken by Mr. David W. Blair of the Ontario Temper- ance Federation, the son of a former minister of Alin Craig. Miss Reta Chown, Lucan, was pianist. The vote on union with the United church of Canada was favorable but there still are sev- eral votes both in the EUB church and the United church before this will be finalized in 1967. Rev. Henry Getz of Pembroke was a houseguest at the parsonage Saturday night with Rev. & Mrs. Merrill James and family and was also guest speaker at the morning service in the EUB church. Fri- day a special service was held when Mr, Ernst was presented with a large basket of flowers to commemorate fifty years in the active ministry. Of these, five years was spent in Saskatchewan and the remain- der in Ontario. Mr. Ernst served forty-two years in the EUB church and eight years in other denominations, the last five years in the United Church of Canada.
