bowling loop banquet at the Legion Hall, Wednesday. The happy seven

Another top club in the Exeter Ladies bowling league displaying two
team trophies are the Mighty Mice. Taking the B division regular
season title and piling up the highest pintail without handicap of all
24 competing teams were the accomplishments of this happy group.

week. The first of these was the
awards 'my held May 26. The
purpose t:ds assembly was to
honor .the outstanding athletes
and other extra-curricular ac-
tivities in the school.
Mr. Mickle presented Jim Hay-
ter, captain of the Junior Boys
ootball Team, with the trophy
and bars for the other team
members. The Junior Boys were
Buron-Perth c ha m pions this
ye at. Tony Leversedge, co-
captair the Senior Boys Foot-
ball Team received the bars on
behalf of the senior team from
Mr. Bogart.
Bars were presented to Robert
Wolfe for the Boys' Volleyball
'foam, by Mr, Bogart. Bars for
junior Girls Volleyball were pre-
sented by Miss Siegner and ac-
cepted by Margaret Geiger, Lynn
Lesnick, captain of the Senior
Girls Volleyball Team accepted
the awards on behalf of team
members, from Miss Emerson.
Mr. Shaw presented bars to
Tim Ockenden, who represented
the Junior Boys Basketball Team.

awards from Mr. Pollen on be-
half of 11.0 Senior Boys' Basket-
ball Team. Eleanor S tanlak e,
captain of the. Junior Girls
Basketball Team received the
bars on behalf of the team from
Miss Hergott. Miss Siegner pre-
sented Marg Bosch, captain of
the Senior Girls Basketball Team
with the trophy and the bars. The
Seniors were Huron-Perth
champs this year.
Mr. Bogart presented the
wrestling award to LarrySkinner
who represented the team.
The golf award was presented
by Mr. Mickle to John Franklin
who represented the golf team.
The top curling teams this
year were: boys, John Franklin,
skip, Al Youngash, vice, Ron
Youngash, lead, and Gord Green-
wood, second; girls, Trudy Sto-
ver, lead, Barb Manley, skip,
Nancy McTavish, vice and Sandra
Prout, second. Barb Manley ac-
cepted the bars and trophy on
behalf of both teams.
Junior Badminton Awards were
presented by Miss Siegner to
Ray Riddell who represented both
teams. Sheila Fahner received
the bars on behalf of the Senior
Badminton Team.
Tom Prout received the bars
for the Junior Track Team from
Mr. Mordowanec. Ron Youngash,
Intermediate Track champion re-
ceived the bars for the team from
Mr. Mickle. Both Ron and Larry
Skinner placed in the WOSSA
meet. John - Franklin, who also
placed at WOSSA received the
senior track bars from Mr. Bo-
gart.
Junior Girls Track awards
were presented by Miss Hergott
to junior champion Joan camp-
bell. Senior Champion Marg
Busch received the bars on be-
half of the Senior Girls Track
Team, presented by Miss Emer-
son.
A number of students received
school letters which were pre-
sented by Mr. Palmer.
Marg Bosch received a second
letter star for track.
In intramural sports Carol
Foster accepted the bars for
cheerleading from Lynn Lesnick.
Shari Robinson, SHDHS posture
queen for 1965-66 accepted the
bars and trophy from Miss Sieg-
ner.
John Loader accepted the bars
on behalf of the Junior Boys
Track Champions. Ron Youngash
accepted the bars for the Inter-
mediate champions. Robb Har-
rington accepted the bars on
behalf of the Senior champions.
These awards were all presented
by John Franklin.
In Boys' Curling the Blue House
By MRS. HEBER DAVIS
Mrs. Clarence Davis was hos-
tess Tuesday evening at the Par-
ish Hall St. Patrick's Church
for the Guild meeting, Mrs. Hugh
Davis, president, conducted the
business meeting.
Plans were made for June 8th
tea. The ladies quilted.
Mrs. 13111 Johnson and Mrs.
Hugh Davis assisted the hostess
with refreshments.

Mr. & Mrs. Earl Greenlee
visited with Mr. & Mrs. Jack
Sehade and Catherine, Dashwood,
Sunday.
Mrs. Barry Carroll and Mrs.
Heber Davis attended the Huron
Diocese Workshop at Huron Col-
lege over the weekend,
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dobbs at-
tended the Mitchell District High
School graduation banquet and
dance at 13rodhagen Tuesday eve-
ning and Friday evening they
were guests at the Guelph General
Hospital alumnae banquet at the
Royal Hotel and spent the week-
end with Mr. & Mrs. RObt. Mogk
and John.

is spondinr, a few days with his.

the Blue House accepted the bars.

frey, captain of the house, ac-
cepted the awards.
In Senior Boys' Volleyball the
White House won. Keith Strang,
captain of the house accepted
the bars.
In Junior Girls' Volleyball tile
Green House won. Eleanor Stan-
lake, captain of the house ac-
cepted the bars.
In Senior Girls' Volleyball the
White House won. Carol Foster
accepted the awards,
In Junior Girls' Basketball the
Blue House won. Marg Geiger,
captain of the house accepted
the bars,
In Senior Girls Basketball the
White House won. Sylvia Cann,
captain of that house received
the bars.
In Junior Boys Basketball the
Blue House won. Rick Barkley,
captain of the house accepted the
awards.
In Intermediate Boys' Basket-
ball Scott Burton captain of the
champion Yellow House accepted
the bars,
In Senior Boys' Basketball,
John Pryde, captain of the cham-
pion Yellow House accepted the
awards.
Awards were also presented
to the Yellow, Blue and White
Houses for floor hockey.
Awards were presented to of-
ficials who are an important
part of intramural sports,
Eight students received Intra-
mural Letters.
Margaret Salmon received an
intramural star.
John Franklin accepted the
awards on behalf of the Athletic
Directorate.
Special awards were presented
to outstanding students. The out-
standing Football Player of 1965-
66 was Dick Coulter.
Intramural Individual Trophies
went to Marg Bosch of the Green
House and Al Youngash of the
Blue House.
The House Trophy went to the
Blue House with a total of 17,-
647 points.
Senior Track Champions were
John Franklin, Craig Davidson,
and Robb Harrington. John
Franklin accepted the awards,
The outstanding athletes of
SEIDliS for 1965-66 were Karen
Finkbeiner, first; Sheila Fahner,
Lynn Lesnick and Diane Stone;
John Franklin, first, Al Young-
ash, Bryan Baynham and Tony
Leversedge,
Awards were presented to the
public speaking champions,
Librarian bars were presented
by Mr. Dinnin to all students
who work in the library at noon
hour and after school,
mr. M. Gaiser presented a
silver plate, courtesy of Hodgson
Insurance Company of Exeter to
Al Youngash and Marg Bosch
for being the outstanding athletes
of 1905-66 at SHDHS. Congratu-
lations Marg and Al! This award
will be presented every year.
Congratulations to all the ath-
letes involved In the Awards Day.
Friday, May 27 was an eventful
day for all students at SHDHS.
The t ea oilers challenged the
Grade 13 students to a baseball
game, This game was held at the
baseball diamond on the fair-
grounds, This was a great game,
as it provided many laughs, as
well as many tense moments,
Comprising the team for the
students were: 1st base, Bryan
Baynham; 2nd, Al Youngash; 3rd,
John Franklin; shortstop, Bob
Hoffman; catcher, Tony Lever-
sedge; pitcher, Robert Wolfe, and
fielders, Bob Beavers, Robb Bar-
rington, Ron Crown, Iris Mar-
shall and Hank Gosar.
The teachers' team was made
up of: 1st base, Mr. G. Mickle;
2nd, Mr. P. Brown; 3rd, Mr. R.
Bogart; shortstop, Mr. Elliot;
catcher, Mr. J. Wooden; pitchers,
Mr. L. Little and Mr. D. Palmer;
and fielders, Mr. Williams, Mr.
Hogan, Mr. Pollen, and Mr. Law-
ton.
The first hit for the teachers
was off the bat of Mr. L. Little.
John Franklin connected for the
first hit for the students.
The only home run in the game
was by Mr. Williams. Good work,
sir!
Five innings were played and
the final score was 8-6 for the
STUDENTS!
I hope the teachers enjoyed
themselves and are ready for
the next challenge, whatever and
whenever it may be.
Our Senior Math Team, com-
prised of Bob Forrest, Doug
Buntley and Iris Marshall re-
ceived the pin which was pre-
sented by the math Association
of America, for their partici-
pation in the Math competition
for Ontario and Quebec schools,
Our junior math team was com-
posed of Tom Koch, Larry Elder
and Dennis Hazelton.
Well, we have about four days
before we all start to write June
exams. Good luck to all!
