This year, warns the National Safety League of Can- ada, that number can be dras- tically reduced, even eliminated, if the thousands of people spend- ing the Victoria Day weekend on, in or around water, obey the simple, sensible rules of safety. NSL urges boat owners to make certain their boats are in safe condition and equipped with ser- viceable, government-approved life jackets, one for each oc- cupant. Children and non-swim- mers in boats should wear life jackets at all times. Overloading the League cau- tions, is one of the major causes of boating tragedies. Keep a con- stant watch on children near water; a moment's inattention could spell disaster. Play it safe, the League urges; heed all safety rules. FOR BEST DEALS IN THE COUNTY Summer convention plans lead- ing to the Canadian National Exhi- bition Grounds, Toronto, are being finalized by the Exeter congregation of Jehovah's Wit- nesses according to an announce- ment made this week by Tom Rawlings, presiding minister of the congregation. He will head a delegation of about 30 from this area to attend the five day gather- ing which will be held June 22-26. Jehovah's Witnesses from Onta- rio and Northern United States have been invited to this Bible conference. "We are expecting an attend- ance of over 50,000 from the Great Lake States of the United States and several C anadian Provinces," Mr. Rawlings ex- plained. t This convention will be the beginning of a series of eleven North American assemblies scheduled for 1966. There will be six in Canada, four in United States and one in Alaska. Our ministers from Exeter are ex- cited about going to the first one. 1965 FORD wagon. Above average.
