at a double ring ceremony in
Christ the King chapel, CFB,
Centralia, at 11 am Saturday,
April 23 when Valerie Eileen,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Noonan exchanged vows with F/0
Darle N. Hill, son of Corp. and
Mrs. Joseph Hill, RCAF Beauri-
Jour, Mintole.
The couple were welcomed into
the church by Father Guilman
and followed in a procession down
the aisle while the junior choir
sang Ave Maria accompanied at
the organ by Mrs. G. Sheard.
The bride chose a floor-length
gown of white nylon tulle with a
fitted bodice of Chantilly lace and
lily point sleeves. A crystaltiara

neld her shoulder-length veil, She
carried a bouquet of pink roses
and white baby mums.
The bride's sister, Miss Au-
reol Noonan, was bridesmaid
wearing a floor-length pink crepe
gown with white lace bodice and
slight train„ Her headdress was
pink tulle trimmed with white
petals and pearls. Her bouquet
was of white baby mums.
OS Randy Hill, Montreal, at-
tended as best man and ushering
guests were Gary Noonan and
Alan O'Hara.
Following the reception in the
Social Centre F/O and Mrs. Hill
spent a few days in New York
before leaving for their new home

At the Legion Ladies Auxiliary
meeting held Monday night plans
were made to make a trip to
Westminster Hospital to play
bingo with the patients. At the
same time the presentation of
the TV Set, donated by the Aux-
iliary will officially take place.
Donations of $25 were made to
the Cancer and Navy League
funds. It was announced that a
Blood Donors Clinic will be held
June 13.
Sports officer Mrs. Stan
Frayne reported that a team
from Exeter won first place in
a bowling tournament held in
Walkerton and also Mrs. Peg
Hunter-Duvar brought back the
high triple trophy.
Plans are underway for the
ladies to take a trip to Toronto
for a day. They hope to visit
several places of interest, in-

cluding the Parliament Buildings.
During the business session,
R. E. Pooley, finance director
of the District Swimming Pool
Fund organization, was presented
with a cheque for $500 for the
fund. This makes atotal of $1,000
the Auxiliary has donated. Before
the presentation was completed,
one of the ladies made Mr. Pooley
promise that he would set one
night aside for the ladies to have
for swimming—he promised he
would—so watch out for a big
"splash" one of these summer
nights.
The mystery prize was won by
Mrs. Eric Heywood. Several
games of fun were played, follow-
ed by lunch, served by Mrs.
Frayne's group.
Mrs. Robert Wragg presided

A successful short course on
"Embroidery Stitches for Crew-
el-work Designs" was sponsored
by the Women's Institutes at West
McGillivray Hall April 19 and 20.
Those from Riverview branch
taking the course were Mrs. W.
Leitch, Mrs. D. Wadsworth, Mrs,
A. Hughes, Mrs. R. Neil, Mrs.
Eli Rees, Mrs. Earl Rees and
Mrs. L. Keaman. Those from
McGillivray WI included Mrs.
L. Morley, Mrs. M. Allison, Mrs.
Conlin, Mrs. T. Kooy, Mrs. G.
Glendinning, Mrs. G. Prest, Mrs.
F. Dixon, Mrs. Glavin, Mrs. J.
Carey, Mrs. J. Geromette and
Mrs. K. Pickering.
There were 18 stitches taught
in the course. Some of the new

ones included the fly, herring-
bone, couching, outline, couching
crossed, holbein, coi al and satin
stitch and the work was done
on scarlet cloth in an eggshell
shade.
Some chose to make place
mats; others, wall hangings and
some made tote bags. Each chose
a design from the various ones
the leader had.
Following the last session Mrs.
M. Allison expressed apprecia-
tion to the leader and presented
her with a gift. The ladies all
felt it was a profitable two days.

Two new Kinettes were wel-
comed into the Kinette club at
the meeting Monday night at the
home of Mrs. James Newby.
Vice-president Mrs. Ed. Hearn
greeted Mrs. Gib Dow and Mrs.
George Pratt.
A donation of $10 was voted to
the Cancer campaign. Tickets
are still being sold on the linens
to be drawn for at the next meet-
ing. The linens are being dis-
played in Fairbairn's window.
Mrs. Hearn brought the gift which
was won by Mrs. Pratt.
